In regards to Jumping in 2.0/realm reborn

I'm tired of people talking about beating a dead horse. You are all just accepting it. The developers have given us a very special opportunity to help dictate how the game will turn out and everybody is just accepting when they are dissatisfied. I for one will take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity and agree with the OP. This is NOT a dead horse and it is NOT beaten beyond death. This is an issue that, if the developers have the resources and time, should fix. I don't care what the priority is, if the developers get that opportunity to make this feature better, please ignore the naysayers. Because for all we know they have the time and resources to change the jump feature but are seeing a bunch of complacent players who would rather kiss ass than show any shred of doubt in their beloved 2.0

I will state what I said earlier AGAIN. The whole world knows that Jumping is coming to a FF: MMO near you. The WHOLE GAMING WORLD (if they decided to open an article about xiv). SE is getting praise from the press and outside gamers for this. Can you see the backlash to an all ready deminished game in the eyes of the gaming world to see SE add a feature they wanted initially back in 2010, being removed because some of the current player base says it ruins the game for them? It would be disasterous, that is why it is beating a dead horse, it is now EXPECTED to be in release.

Seriously people have you not actually read any of Yoshi-P's letters yes he will listen to us, but he is going to listen more to a player base he is trying to GET to play the game. That is the more important thing for SE atm. If they lose 500 people who don't like Jumping and obtaining 100,000 MMO players that expect it as a basic function of an MMO it is a smart business move for them to do.

Edit: Also in current player base I am pretty sure there are more that want it or just don't care either way on the matter, and are more worried about combat and actual meat to the game then a convenience in travel feature. Also a greater majority of players don't come to the forums due to grief like this, and just want an enjoyable game, they just want something different then what they got at 1.0 release. Again I am not saying there is not more than 500 that don't want it or don't want it changed but in the larger FFXIV and gaming community there is more that want it as a feature, or don't care. So again both sides can elaborate their numbers. But in a fiscally benificial business model move SE saw and came to decision to add jump, introduced to not 1 but 3 Gaming conventions and it is all over in Game interviews. The general gaming community that is now interested in FFXIV that were not before know that Jumping is coming to FFXIV. If they remove it now the same opinion that these news sites and players had at 1.0 release will remain if not worse and it will get trashed again. Yoshi-p nor SE want this to happen so they will not be removing it. Because in 1.0 we were promised a lot of things at release that was not there and bit them in the arse, so they are not going to repeat their same mistakes again just because in true reality its a smaller gaming population that don't want it then there is of one that expects it as a feature.

I never said I was against jumping. But these guys are artists if anything else. And the best thing they can get is feedback. To see the video and say "yeah, we'll take that" instead of actually giving them feedback on how to improve is not helping. The worst thing you can do to an artist's work in progress is say it is fine the way it is.

I welcome jumping. I'm excited for the freedom (as seen in the video jumping from the watchtower). But I don't want to let the game be done haphazardly again. If you've ever done an art piece or anything that requires feedback in your life, you'd know that sometimes you are blind to your own mistakes simply because you're the one that made them. We should be encouraging feedback and critique, not getting all defensive and cry cry over it.
