There are some really amazing voices here! I'd love to hear some of you in the actual trailer, especially if SE mixed in a different voice for each line. It really shows the diversity in the game.
I'm very tempted to give this a try myself. I've been told that I have a nice voice, but I have to work to hide my accent. Lightly-twangy Okie accents are unsuitable for epic Final Fantasy trailers.![]()
I mixed down my own voice over with the trailer, you can check it out here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUmkj1wxIyY
But you should give it a shot too! It's just something new, different, and fun. I've never done it before, but it's so silly I just couldn't help it lol.
I soooo wanted to respond to this Sunday and yesterday but for some reason I was blocked from the forums. I blame needing to reinstate my subscription to XIV mixed with the Labor Day holiday.I feel kinda silly with my entry after hearing everyone elses. But here it is.

Anyways, I wanted to say I dug the build up. Starts calm, then explodes near the end. Lots of passion behind the voice. Good work.

There used to be a woman from New Orleans in my linkshell. Her voice sounded like that of a southern belle. It wasn't overly done (she may have been vainly trying to hide it) but it was very light, smooth, and sweet, kind of like fine cotton candy. There are some really amazing voices here! Besides, the creators of the contest left it open only to the North American audience (unfortunately). With that in mind I'm sure they're a bit lenient on non cannon accents. I know the localization writers from XI purposefully would write some Mithra dialogue to sound as if they were from the south. XIV may be different but that doesn't mean your voice couldn't add to the breadth of the community.
Do share please.

If only my accent was that smooth. XD Well, I could give it a shot sometime when it's quiet around here. And yeah, some of the Mithra in FFXI always had a slight twang in my head. There used to be a woman from New Orleans in my linkshell. Her voice sounded like that of a southern belle. It's funny you mentioned New Orleans, I'm actually from there! Hurricane Issac wasn't too kind to us, and most are just now getting power back (or are still out). But anyway, I thought it was pretty interesting that you mentioned New Orleans, thats all.
When I was recording this I was trying to make the best, the very best, an awesome artwork of universal dub, and when I was rendering it I cried with a smile. When I uploaded it on Youtube then I looked at it, and I cried even more, with an even wider grin. And then I asked my self: "Why."

Anything with a kazoo and a Monty Pythonish French accent is A1 Steak Sauce in my book.
