Um go play STWOR, WOW, TSW and anything that is current. The "majority" of MMOs you can jump. Trust me its not going to be that bad. Rather someone jump in one spot than darting left to right non stop.

People will jump a lot when the concept is new. When they've been playing for a while, jumping will get old and they will do it a lot less. Just deal with it.
Whilst not directed at the OP:
I really struggle to understand why people get so upset about jumping in an MMO. Do you really think it makes that big a deal? Just because someone is jumping (which by the way people in reality could do if they chose). How does this detract from the game? How does it make the game unplayable or appear childish? Is it any different than spamming /laugh or /dance by a fountain?
If this is really the best you can suggest for 'improving ARR' then maybe the alpha would be better without you. Don't mean to sound like a complete a*se but this is a non-issue.
Come up with good ways to reduce spamming, abuse and RMT - these are worthwhile pursuits.

This again. Sorry but I don't want my freedom of movement to be restricted because some of you think it's annoying to see people jump. That you would sacrifice the benefits of jumping just because you "find it annoying" is baffling. Jump is here to stay, get over it.

@Lirion Did you... by chance actually read the opening post? I never at any point said that jumping needs to be removed.
Incidentally, did a search for jump and did not see any immediate results, so I thought I'd ask for some thoughts. Did not realize the topic was so taboo. We should really just all say things once and then never expect to hear them again. Perhaps there are so many posts relating to this matter because it actually is something worth considering? Either way, it is but a topic for conversation, nothing more.
A5ko, do you by chance work as a SE QA tester? No? It seems that ranking suggestions by apparent "quality" is something that happens when you do this sort of thing for a job. It is a good thing that I am unbound by such constraints, and can therefore pursue such petty thoughts as: "Hope jumps are not a total mess" and "I wonder why this man obsessed with worthwhile pursuits is not instead out there curing cancer and feeding the hungry as opposed to playing an online game?"
Anyhow, It's good to get your thoughts on the matter. I appreciate the replies!
I did read it and as I understand it you want to put a delay/cooldown on jump, that is restricting my movement. Say I come to a fence but I can't jump over it because I just jumped a little too early. How is that in any way good other than pleasing people who find it annoying watching other players jump?
No mention of cooldowns whatsoever.
While we're at it, can we put a restriction on everything we don't like? There are far too many Elezen for my liking...so let's just get those out of my sight.
