Luck has nothing to do with relics, relics needs commitment from each and every individual in a group that is pursing a relic, you have to be "so good" at the job you're getting the relic for to get pass the faction part of it.
The first part where you get the seals isn't about luck since they have a fair drop rate, me and my group once got 5 seals in 5 runs, without even having one in the top 20 list.
Then you have the 17 minutes speedrun, if you're skillful enough, all of you, you'll be able to get that in no time, unless if you Want to depend on luck and go for the bad drop rate by doing the normal speedrun.

During the faction, Ifrit and Garuda just pray that you won't be unlucky and get an error from the game

avesta was extremely skilled, yes. but skill at solo pve != skill at solo pvp != skill at group pve != skill at group pvp

and saying that only one form of content takes skill, or takes "true" skill (while the others apparently take "false" skill?) is just downright silly.

I remembre when I played on Besaid before transfering to Ragnarok there was a Miqo'te called Battle Boobs.

After a few months he was finally reported to a GM who insisted he changed his name. BB then typed in Bobobobobobob Bobobobob ironically which rather than taking as a joke the GM changed his name ~

Thus the Ballad of Bobobobobobob Bobobobob was written.

You are forgetting about the materia melding part, that is the part that I was specifically referring to considering you can not get past the first leg of the actual relic reborn quest without either buying an item or double melding one with materia that is incredibly expensive.

By creating your own materia and crafting your own weapons, you can get through the entire relic quest without paying a dime. I know people who aren't rich or lucky and are happy relic owners.

Hence the luck part, man, is this really going over so many peoples heads that I have to explain it a billion times? Even if you make your own materia you are putting it up to chance. You have 1: Get lucky and get the materia you are aiming for and 2: Get lucky and meld it to the weapon which is at about a 20% chance.

The other alternative to this is paying someone who has already gotten lucky with their double meld an absurd amount of money to buy it from them, or to buy the materia and hope you get lucky on the double meld.

You're missing my point, the materia took me weeks to get and I had a lot of linkshell support with creating that materia. I finally got my double meld on my 12th attempt.

So, I was able to obtain my relic without being "rich" or "lucky". Instead I used dedication and the help of friends.
