Can't say I care for this either...never liked it on WoW or any other mmo...I actually like to open my journal and scan my quest/missions and continue on my way. Hoping for the option to keep this hidden or just use journal only.Greetings!
Not a fan of flipping open your journal every time you need to review your quest requirements/map? In A Realm Reborn, we will be adding a feature that tracks the progression of your quests and leves. Your objectives list will be displayed through the UI and quest markers will be shown on the map among other locations.

A lot of these features aren't so much of no interest to me as potentially very annoying. Not everyone likes this sort of thing spoon-fed them; for my part I'd much rather just be given a character's name and where I can find them, and go from there, not have my UI intruded on by a bunch of ugly floating exclamation marks, pointers, and lists.
So yes, I hope very much these are an option, not something we have to have, or that the UI customisation system will let us remove them somehow by ourselves.

I don't understand how omitting this feature improves the overall gaming experience. How does opening a journal and waiting for a quest to load make you enjoy a game more? All it does is make the game more obtuse. Especially when quests are a dime a dozen. Do you really want to open up your log every time a random NPC wants you to kill 3 of x monster?Ditto.

If Devs left this one out of the game, people would still be searching wiki for objectives. I just don't get what the problem is.
(I think the DEV team and SE is trying to put wiki out of business? lol!)Greetings!

Are you referring to the mini-map or the full map, Okipuit? Though I have no issues with opening the menu, journal and checking to see my quests, I like the feature to be on the map too! This is a nice addition, (+7 points!), now all we need is markers and pen tool for maps! Please, ask them to add this too.
In addition to the map fuction, we want to see others on the map, but initially we can't find them on the map, so we should be able to pin-point their location(on the huge map) by clicking their name on a list(instead of moving around a map you can't even zoom-out of). There's no way to zoom-in or zoom-out so it's a time-sink to search the whole map for your pty members.

I welcome you and commend you for your efforts with 'x I v'! ^_^ b Please ignore the insult of my fellow players and country men for they don't speak for the rest of us(every town has their drunkards and idiots). No one has the right to judge.I just started playing this game today, and already ran into a big problem. I am physically disabled with very limited use of my hands to the point where I cannot type (I use voice recognition software to control the keyboard) , and I can only press the right mouse button and cannot hold down or use the scroll wheel on the mouse. As a result, I cannot move my character efficiently. ...
SE should support this for I support user-accessibility for those who are disable or handicapped through unfortunate means. Right now i'm stuck in bed myself with a busted knee-cap. I can still type though but voice-recognition technology does exist and is very very useful! I'm in bed right now with a laptop but my main PC is just across the room from me where I can't go,lol! I wish I had voice recognition software for that baby of mine! XD
Please don't quit Catman, despite the odds against you. Life is a challenge as well as this game but it's fun too. You'll adapt to it and master it, I have high hopes you will.

Since when'd I ask them to omit it from the game? I just said having those features intruding on my UI would get on my nerves, not that they oughtn't implement it at all. It's a simple matter of preference; it's been my experience that floating exclamation marks and arrows manifesting in the world around my character annoy me. Doesn't bother you? Fine, leave them on!I don't understand how omitting this feature improves the overall gaming experience. How does opening a journal and waiting for a quest to load make you enjoy a game more? You don't have to get what the problem is, it's a simple fact that some people happen to have not enjoyed a particular feature when they've been exposed to it in the past, and that feature also happens to be the sort that can have an on/off toggle with fairly little trouble and little to no impact on other players. I don't get the problem with asking for that.

Opening a journal to find where to go is a lot easier the moving to a web browser and finding where to go.I don't understand how omitting this feature improves the overall gaming experience. Just because you had some bad experiences with these type of UIs before doesn't mean it won't be executed well. You are going to leave this option on for one simple reason. Turning off quest markers would be the same as turning off all the names display. Sure it makes things a little less cluttered. But the clutter is worth it.
