Market Wards Population Fix?

So question what is linking the market wards going to do to make me, or anyone else, want to go to Limsa or Grid? As it stands now the only real reason to go to these other cities is because of Guild Support for crafting or for spending Guild Marks nothing else. Granted having quests and rep for each of the starting cities will decrease this some what but is it going to change the fact that there is going to be a central market where everyone eventually ends up? Even putting in a "Conquest" type system really won't help. And I for one have been against this as we're supposed to be preparing to repel the coming Garlean Empire invasion not attacking each other.

Now I know that I'm in a minority here but I like the wards the way they are now. Though the crashing and laggy-ness I could do without, but that just might be due to the fact that so many retainers are in one zone.

Not everyone will want to move back, but there are some people who feel they need to move to Ul'dah (for many reasons) - just one of those being that the majority of retainers have moved to Ul'dah. People who want to stay in Ul'dah will stay there, but for the people who don't, this will help them. Not only people living in Limsa and Gridania, but those visiting for leves and such would have markets nearby that are actually populated. That doesn't sound like a bad thing to me. There are many other things that would need to be changed to repopulate Limsa and Gridania, but the market wards is one step in the right direction.
