And what do you mean by "skills"? There's no race specific skills. Do you play this game or just post on the forums?

Damn, I've got to go talk to Rowena. She can't be an NPC anymore 'cause Hyuran is playable.

Someone better go tell Merlwyb, too.

EDIT: And hell, would someone tell that maroon van Darnus that he can't be an NPC Elezen!

    Nice hyperbole there.

I never said it's specifically because there are NPC moogles, but rather that they will be serving a really specific function in the game (that ONLY moogles will do).

By which reasoning you conclude that it is impossible for them to be a playable race, because of a specific NPC function that their race is to serve.

The hyperbole is on your part. I merely satirize. (o.0 )

I said nearly impossible. And yes that is my conclusion as I personally find it highly unlikely they will ever be a playable race for reasons I already mentioned.

Satire is ironic hyperbole, it doesn't change what you said were gross exaggerations and misinterpretations of what I said.

The point, sir, is that your reasons are completely illogical. (O.< ) Because an NPC race serves a noted function in the game, it is unlikely for them to be made a playable race.

You state "It is unlikely that the Moogle race will become playable because they serve a vital NPC function."

I state "Therefore, there should be no playable Rogadeyn females, no? Or, for that matter, Hyuran females."

You then state that it is hyperbole to make such a comparison. Elaborate as to why.

There is no function in the game that an NPC Roegadyn can do that an NPC Hyur can not. However if we are getting the mognet (which we are) that is something ONLY mogs do. And it's not just the mog net I'm talking about.

How much of the game have you played through? Did you see any of the stories about the elementals and how the shroud works? Do you know that in the lore Moogles essentialy serve as messengers of not only the mystical elementals but also the Gods themselves? They are essentially forest priests.

Again I'm not saying it's completely impossible but lore wise it does not fit at all as they are supposed to be mystical and magical characters that are the sort of "missing link" between normal folk like us and the elementals. Making them a playable race would kind of spoil all that.

So lore and some binary are the only things making them unplayable.

Running counter to the above reasons, Moogles are popular and very integral to FF as a whole. Ask a dozen people for their favorite character from FFVI, four of 'em gonna say "Mog!"

As for lore making it unreasonable to introduce a new playable race, that begs the question how they'd be managing anything they introduce. Some folks want Bangaa, I am not among them, but there it is. Others want Viera. In what lore were Viera ever mentioned? Never. Dev Team gonna change things and make it up as they go, fitting the lore to the race. The same could be done for moogles.

Plus, it's the end of the world. All bets are off!
