I think the only thing mouse has over controller is the ability to quickly select a target..... that is if you click right on it the first time, this game though doesn't usually require such precision in most battles.

generally I find it easier and faster to position myself versus trying to wade through multiple targets

It may or may not, I know i've saved people during some boss fights by being able to near instantly get off a PoM Raise and be right back to healing the tank with very few motions. And I even stated in my first post in this thread that the UI currently has issues that limit a Mouse/KB setup, intentionally or not. This however changes with 2.0. Do I think they will design the game so someone with a controller is unable to play and compete? No. They designed it so it could be played with one, however that doesn't negate one input device being better than the other, all human variables removed.

We get it Ispano...you are way more awesome than the gamepad users...

That said, since humans ARE in fact controlling the game, whether it be with a keyboard, keyboard+mouse, or gamepad, some people will be more adept at one vs. the other and therefore quicker than you regardless of how they are playing...

Oh and targeting the middle of 6 mobs, at the most is 3 quick tabs, and my a button for the spell...as long as i can do that faster than you can move a mouse or tab (which is the same thing by the way just you are pushing tab and i am clicking an arrow key) I will kill before you.

raises are a whole different story because they only target KO'ed characters, which is extremely easy to do with controller, you hit raise and hit D pad in any direction and it targets the KO'ed player literally takes milliseconds. You don't even have to untarget the tank.

In my books if you'd saved them they wouldn't need the raise......

    Pad
1:- press left or right 2 maybe 3-times. to select target
2:- hold left trigger. to open macro bar
3:- press x to select macro

I dont understand how you find this so complicated. with a mouse it would be
1:- move mouse over group of enemies click them maybe 2 or 3 times to get the right one.
2:- press ctrl or whatever to open macro bar
    3:- press appropriate macro number.

now unless your completely silly and not even prepared for the fight in which case a pad user may have to press left or right to select a diffent macro just as a mouse keyboard user may have to press up or down to switch lists.... there really is no major difference between the two methods.

Lets take an ingame example of AV. we enter. while I turn right and head to those jelly fish I am already moving accross my spell bar and getting ready to cast. So when the blms stop at the entrance to that room I press right maybe twice and hit cast. thats 3 button presses. (right right x) as i was ready prepared.

so then we're in the first light depops and thw whm has regened us I've already got my flare macro selected. so we run through that first room stop at the killspot i press x. (1 button press) then as we run to the portal to the second room i'm moving my selector over my fire combo ready for the 3 lillies. i press left or right to target one as i run past. then in the kill spot i press x right x right x (maybe 5 buttons) assuming they live that long. with a mouse it would be click mouse, move mouse, click mouse, move mouse, click mouse. with a keyboard it might simply be 1 2 3 but as the spells have a cast time (which is more than enough time for a game pad user to press left or right) it really is no faster.

I'm sorry but you are so very wrong. now if in that above example i always found myself casting even just 1 or 2 seconds slower than everyone using a mouse/keyboard i might be more inclined to think your right but it just doesn't happen that way. if anything i'm one of the first to get my spells off for the most part.

End of the fucking thread. Christ I've been trying to say this since forever.

The accuracy of a mouse is entirely dependent on the user. Period. No matter how well they calibrate it beforehand, at the end of the day the mouse goes where YOU point. If you miss, the mouse misses.

A keyboard is always 100% accurate. It will never miss. Ever. EVER. And hitting a key is faster than manually moving a mouse. Period. You cannot move your hand faster than I can twitch my finger. Thats all there is to it.

So really, if we remove the player variable the mouse loses. A mouse can only be superior if your hands move like lightning and you never miss a target ever.

KB only with random mouse to panic target someone (because Tab fails so badly sometimes), or hit my Choco button.

Alright here, let me fix the mouse/keyboard one for you.

1:- Select mob you want directly, while using thumb buttons (in my setup anyways) to move to the appropriate bar if needed.
    2:- Press key for spell.

Except when you compare two devices or two input methods. Sure you compare them for yourself, but you know, many people can do either one just as well as the other and then it comes down to which one is better on its own merits, not what Player A said he prefers on a forum. 3 Quick Tabs? By that time i'm already casting.
