So glad that speed runs are maybe only staying for achievement purposes only and have no effect on loot. Sometimes I want to do things at a more leisurely pace.

Hey, now. You could introduce a classic FF element to deal with that:

Might catch flak for bringing up WoW here, but they sorta had this in their raids with the lockout timers. After you killed a major boss, usually all the trash prior to it would stay dead so if you had to stop you can pick up where you left off.

I'm not saying either way whether we should have lockout timers on raids, but it may be a good idea if certain dungeons are going to require a lot of time. Yoshida mentioned in an interview that they may add more content to Crystal Tower at a later date and some people just don't want to try to do a whole dungeon in a 5 hour sitting.

XI utilized save points in a way in some content too, so if anything they'd just be redoing what they did before, like they should have from the start.
