Bahamut!!!!
Bahamut!!!!

I thought Bahamut was the the god/primal of the dragons and Nidhogg was only their king?
Nidhogg is not a Primal, he is merely a very powerful Wyrm of Ishgardian legend. If the Dragons worship a Primal, it is most likely Bahamut.
As for being on-topic, I'm curious as to why the 'leaked pictures' contradict what has been established so far. Summoners weren't supposed to be able to summon Primals, I was pretty sure. And as for Arcanists, weren't they originally techno-mages? They had clockwork staves and they could lay spell traps, nothing like what was in the description...
In the text I only read that the summoners once summoned the primals. Not that they can still do it.
I'm sure that the main primals like Ifrit, Garuda and Titan are still for free companies and summoner get the "lesser primals" like Siren, Fenrir an Typhon.
It's a lost art just like White and Black Magic. The WHM and BLM lores aren't any different really and I don't see what's the point in telling us what we can't do in the official description on the main website.
If we were meant to get lesser summons they would've said so but they only mentioned the primals.
It's like Scholar and Dancer in XI. People used to do it =/= people can't do it anymore. If mages in the past could summon the primals what's so different now?
As a SMN I like Yoshi's idea of primals being strong and I hope Carbuncle is no exception to this.. even if that means we don't get to summon him.
hmm what I think arcanist is like XI's nintsu using tools to make it become magic.
well "in my dream" I think I saw the beastmen summon evil god, so we summon something to fight it... but you know it's just me dreaming... /look around + /whistle
So, ya maybe we summon probably siren, alexander, and carby. I also think it's possible the skill itself is like some ff tactic one summon something pop the skill then disappear.
The way I see it is that after SMN is unlocked, every 5 levels allow you to battle another summoned spirit to acquire and then use, just how the DoW/DoM jobs were for obtaining abilities and AF.additional summons i expect to be linked to the limit break system.
you may have additional summons based on level. IE: summon avatar is gained at level 1. at level 20 you gain enhanced summon avatar that allows you to summon fenrir. but more than likely it will just add abilities to carby's roster. and the summoner job will be where you get some of the cooler stuff. maybe we'll get sylph as a sustained summon.
we will likely be restricted to 'terrestrial' summons. such as Carby, Phoenix, Fenrir, diabolos, and bahamut. as part of either sustained summons or limit breaks. 'celestial' summons are tied to beastmen, like titan is the guardian deity of the kobolds. it doesn't make much sense for us to be able to summon him. We do know that Siren has been unofficially confirmed through concept art. but she could be the guardian deity of sahagin like beastmen. but then where does leviathan lie?
We have seen creatures resembling both bahamut and Diabolos in the trailers (both for ARR and 1.0) so i do expect them to make an appearance in ARR at some point.
I wouldn't be surprised if the only time you get to summon primals (such as Ifrit or Titan) will be during summoner Limit Break, and that they do a 2 hour and then disappear. It would make more sense towards Yoshida's "vision" of how primals should be like.
