    I agree that this might be more realistic given potential latency issues.

    But with that in mind, imagine if "fine play" meant that you could increase your XP bonus(or even restore HP/MP/spiritbond/item drop rate/whatever) after battle by fulfilling challenges much like in a Tales game.

    "Land a successful 3-hit combo" - +3% xp at end of battle. Something like that. They could even tie it into achievements.

    Oh yeah ! Active Timing, Fine Play, whatever it is I'm excited ! but before that, I wanna know how It works xD
    Like in Lost Odyssey, that Active Timing made me focus on the Battle and not wander off xD

    I wonder how this will work out for Magics like Cure, Protect and Stoneskin though. For Black Magic, maybe release in quick succession for [Thunder Combo]

    I'm excited for Fine Play.

    It could be really fun, but it also could be a big failure (bad system, latency, too much importance in battles, etc ...), so I'm looking forward to more details and not putting my hopes too high.

    Oh god, me. This could be really cool, and scratch the "skillchain+magic burst cooperation and timing" itch I've got left from oldschool FFXI except in a way that's of interest to every single party member. Definitely looking forward to more about this

    Sounds like a good system to push players away from burning through mobs mindlessly and actually use some strategy, saving skills being more reactive than active. Reminds me of Star Ocean 4 how you used various tactics for a bonus at the end of a fight.
