I think what TC wants is so that if the party leader is out of range, say in Treespeak, and he is in Nine Ivies, when he fights a Dormouse and kills it, he will still get SP as if he killed it solo while the leader gets no SP.

I think this would make sense. If party members are out of range, I think it would be unwise to still give SP to non-participants and give a party bonus to the person who solos a mob. I also think SE shouldn't penalize other members if the party leader goes afk for extended periods of time.

This is pretty much what i'm asking for. If you have played FFXI that is what i want. The only thing i dissagree on is the participating part. At times in Behest the mob dies before you can even get in a hit and for mages what if all your doing is healing? But i guess they could make like a 5-10 min timer of inactivity. So if you do not move or do an action you get zero SP/Exp from the fight.

It should stay as it is, with the exception of the one killing the mob getting the SP and people near to him, not dependant on where the partyleader is.

Wow at some of the comments in this thread, there is no exploit if you award just the person his XP/SP.

For example if you aren't in range of the leader you get no SP if he kills something however he does and vice versa if you kill something, how could that possibly be exploited.

It's just another stupid limitation put in this game for no real reason.

    Yeah

this basicaly sounds like people complaining that they can not sit afk in camp and get sp for what otehrs are doing in the field.

Also, if you are in a different zone then the party leader, you probly shouldnt be in the same party if you are all fighting for sp(maybe time to make a new party) or whatever, there is NO REASON for people to spread out to get sp unless ou are thinking maybe you can find a way to get it faster by exploiting fighting in multiple areas at once.

WHAT, what about if you want to chat with a group of friends (maybe from different LS's) there are plenty of reason to be in a party and not be in the same zone, doesn't even have to be killing monsters, 2 could be crafting 4 could be grinding SP, 1 could be doing a quest.

Sure its an unlikely scenario but I don't see why we couldn't do that if we wanted to, more importantly you can do it most other MMO's so why shouldn't we have the option to do it here.

thats what a linkshell is for

using the party system as a crutch for talking, and complaining that you cant get sp cross zone or when ages away isnt an excuse for this complaint
especialy since you DO NOT DESERVE the sp, since after all...you arent even there fighting

I think people are still a bit confused on the topic. This is not to gain SP across the zone. This is simply saying that when a party member kills a mob, the members that killed the mob should get SP for it. Currently, if the party leader is out of range, you cannot claim or receive SP for the kill.

I have had many occasions when this has been a problem. Leader dies and bloodports, but whoops, forgot to set homepoint close. The party wants to continue while he runs back to camp, but you can't. You don't get SP.

Party forms in Ul'dah, leader is staying behind to pick up a straggler, party ports to camp early. They can't start fighting because the leader isn't there.

Leader has to go afk for 10-15 min. He stays at the atheryte, but forgets to pass leadership. The party can't continue since he's out of range, and they can't get SP for kills.

Again, not asking for SP across zones, just being able to get SP from a mob you kill when the leader is out of range.
