No SP when your to far from leader.

I really hate this. WHy do they do this? I understand if your away from party leader and/or other members and kill something they shouldn't get SP but come on YOU should still get SP for it. I bring this up because if they go afk they have to put auto follow on just so when you kill something you get SP for kills. Their are times when your duoing and party leader goes afk and you still kill mobs. I want the dam SP for it. I'm ok with no SP if your to far from their kills but no SP if you kill something and your not party leader is a bad design.

    Anyone else like/hate the design?

I think this is in place to stop someone from joining a party, then going afk and letting someone kill all the mobs for them so they can rank up while afk. So ya, if that's the case they need to leave this in.

there are other issues surrounding the party mechanic that could use some looking at or tweaking as a whole. If not now then some where along the road. Not being able to lay "Claim" on a mob because the party leader is elsewhere is one of them. Not being able to initiate a teleport because the rest of your party is on the other side of eorzea fighting something is also annoying. Not being able to drop out of a party because some one is on the other side of eorzea is fighting something is also highly aggravating. i can understand them blocking people joining during combat, but leaving?

I look at the stumbling blocks put in place and i can understand why they were put there, but in some cases they are very counter productive.

last week our group was doing our weekly nm round up and smash. we had just come from killing bloatbelly and were engaged with the great buffalo. Dumbass me forgot to attune to the baldknol aether, it slipped my mind. something went haywire and i ended up trying to stop Onrush with my face (note i wasn't that successful at it). Knowing it would be more efficent to just return and make the short jog back i hit the return, it was round about then that it clicked in my head that "Hey dummy the last aether you touched was tree speak". Due to the teleport lockout and my stupidity i had to sit out the rest of the fight.

I figure i have about two more weeks of every one reminding me to attune once we hit a camp. lol

I think this was also done as there was an exploit where people would party up, go to different areas, and get more xp for their solo kills.

I see no problem with this, would be crazy easy to exploit other wise.

Exploit. Not sure how you can exploit this. So aparently How i described it didn't come through.

All i want is if your in a party , away from your group/party leader and you kill a mob YOU get SP. As of now if your to far from the Party Leader you do not get SP if you kill a mob.

So what you think i ment was if your far away from the party and kill a mob everyone in the party gets SP? Thats not what i'm asking them to change it to.

Let me make this clear. I'm not saying everyone gets SP just the people in close range of the kill. Close range, NOT clear across the map. If your PARTY LEADER goes afk for a couple minutes you can't kill any mobs that are not close to the Party leader. If you kill a mob to far away from the Party Leader no SP is rewarded for the kill. Because you have to roam to get kills your grinding comes to a halt. Bad design.

Their was no explote like the one you are decribing. You always had to be close to the party leader to get SP. Also if you attack more then one mob only the red one gives SP and the other gives less, if its not dead before you kill the first mob attacked or 0 SP if you kill it before the first mob. Just curious have you played FFXIV?

You can do this now. lock on another player and set auto run.

If you go afk you shouldn't get SP period. At the very least this mechanic forces you to get on autofollow (that ca be easily lost, and still puts you in harm's way), instead of just going afk in a safe spot and leeching on other people's effort.

I'm all for range limits, and they should stay.
