Progress in beta to carry over to live-relaunch?

Actually, multiple MMO's carry over beta progress. I would give you proof but I'm pretty sure you can just ask Professor Google.

Not really... Ive beta tested ALOT of MMOs... if its a closed beta, or an invite only beta, its most likely not going to have your progress transferred on official launch. Its not fair to the players who didnt have a chance to play in the beta. You pretty much got a huge head start compared to others. If its an open beta ( everyone can get in).. that's a different story.

Then whats the point in giving us access to our LIVE character data for 1-4 months if it's not going to be saved.

Usually Beta progress is never carried on to Live.

Tera Open beta did. The closed beta 1-5 was carried over and characters were wiped for Open beta. also. lolTera

Even when XI went into beta on the 360 on seperate servers, they eventually said they would allow tansfer after (had to activate it at an npc and select a world).

They have changed their minds before, it really dpends on time and if they can recovert easily to other servers.
