    Because you would equip stuff from Gladiator ("Paladin"), Conjurer ("White Mage"), and Archer ("....Ranger") onto your "Warrior" anyways which would make it not a Warrior in the classic sense of the word. The game was meant for everyone to have their own personalized class depending on which spells and abilities they wanted and you would be able to fulfill any role on any class to some degree as long as you had the proper spells equipped. Unfortunately it was terribly balanced so everyone just equipped Cure/Stoneskin/Protect/Nukes and started spamming all over.

    Why did they abandon the subjob-system - the core-feature of ffxi that basically everyone praised, no matter whether they liked the game in total or not.
    Why have a sub-job system when you can just use a slew of abilities from all the other classes rather than just one? Though the job system did kind of amend this, but more of a "fixed" sub-job system where each job is locked to 2 sub-jobs...

    Where each job is locked to 2 fix subjobs, where every JobX has abilities from JobY and JobZ, without any variation. In XI you could be a RDM/BLM or RDM/WHM or RDM/NIN anything, you had advantages and disadvantages with each subjob, you had a possibility to have some variation with your job depending on the situation. Its different in XIV and in my opinion worse.

    I wanna see PLD/NIN tanking with THFs TAing them to gain hate....that kind of stuff D:

    I totally agree with this. The job system in FFXI worked so perfectly and I'm not sure why they needed to change it. I understand it is a different game, and there SHOULD be differences, but there's no use changing something that worked so well.
