I just don't see it in XIV. All I do is throw up pro/shell now and again, sometimes I don't even bother because we really don't need it; and sit back and toss the occasional cure. Buffing feels pointless, debuffs feel pointless. All I do is keep AOE on, the tank targeted and my fingers over 2 and 3 for cures. Half the time i'm watching TV it's so boring. I wouldn't have dared to do that in XI lest I want to wipe us all.

Also. Kiting. Can I have it? Seriously. Where the fuck is it. It's impossible in this game.
I guess fun is relative. I find this system fun, it can be more challenging, but its fun. The crab parties in casseopia and eft parties in the black shroud were places where the mobs can chew your face off. The fight is there if you look for it.

And really? You've never kited? I haven't played a mage class yet, but I did it yesterday solo on a leve! The ranged attacks make it easier than you might think.
