What will happen to dated items and dated material ?

I tend to leave the past behind. Leaving "Dated" gear just confuses new players.

So, players like myself who've played since closed beta and have a 'Legacy' account, but haven't felt inclined to grind away at recent content to get 'current' gear, find our characters naked with no gear come ARR?

You only have dated gear o.o? I think it might be good to consider getting some of the new equipment that has been released since then. I always thought some of the fun was getting new equipment occassionally.

Hopefully you have at least a few pieces of non-dated gear so you can be decent when ARRRRrr comes out.

PLEASE don't just do away with dated gear! Amaranth brings up a good point...I've kept some of my dated gear the way it is without selling or converting it because it's a specific color and/or something that isn't available in non-dated form! It would be nice if you could at least give us back/give us new recipes to make non-dated versions of the things we don't want to lose!

I honestly would prefer that they deleted every dated gear and recipe coupled with them. Even though I'm carrying a few pieces still in my inventory. However, that does not mean I'm really looking forward to it. For the next simple reason.

Not all dated gear are available in the current recipes like some people have mentioned here. Being it their looks or color palette. I don't want to lose some of my coatees and mocassins, because for some reason S-E thought it to be a good idea to make new recipes but remove some of the colors or appearance of them.

To conclude. I really would be behind the decision to remove them all if they find a way to include those missing equips/colors into the new recipes.

I would go with Getty rid of it all and giving the players with it in their inventory give them Gil for it when they come back in ARR

I only have a few dated items I'm keeping. Mostly the pink Coatee and robe sets also my black robe set with the dated black tights with crafting stats. Until they bring out the same sets in the same color, I hope we get to keep them. I love my pink linen level 50 coatee set ^^

I vote to remove the ability to craft and sell/trade dated gear, but leave the current dated gear already out there so the players that have it can enjoy it if they want to hold onto it.

I wouldn't mind getting rid of the dated recipes except for the fact that there are very few grinding recipes for certain classes if you take them away. I am working very hard to get my complete set of luminary crafting tools for this reason.

Allow players to keep them but make them untradeable and remove the recipes.
