How do you know how the 2.0 market ward search feature work? Maybe there is a toogle to turn off dated stuff out of the search. I just say ^^

Did you even read my post or just go for the tl;dr version? It does not affect anything. Right now there's nothing they can do about the dated equipment, and we probably won't see any changes until ARR (2.0 or whatever you want to refer to it as.) is released. I even posted suggestions to counter cluttering up item searches. Remove the ability to list these on the wards/auction house/whatever they add in for publicly selling items for. You can list them in your personal bazaar or trade them but cannot put them up on public selling markets.

I can definitely agree with this part. If they were updated but left with an optimal level/favored class setting they could still be useful. Though it just depends on what changes they make to them. I still use certain pieces of dated equipment for my crafting classes when leveling them up. If you're not playing a supported class you're stuck using crakows and gaiters until you can use the vintage thighboots for one example. So I use the dated thighboots (I got a pair for levels 16, 26, and 36.) up until I can.

Remove it, its confusing and waters down the already large enough list of craft-able gear for a game that technically is still in beta and hasnt released yet.

There are so many unique armor models that won't exist if they remove dated gear, I'm strongly against totally scrapping the gear. There's no harm in leaving it as long as it is non-AHable, anyone thinking it takes up valuable "space" is confused, the models are still going to be there, as many are used on NPCs (and many of them should be used in new gear, since right now low level gear options are lacking, and new players are not going to be as tolerant of this) so an item is reduced down to a few strings, in total the dated gear probably takes up a megabyte of memory, and that's a liberal estimate.

PLEASE don't just do away with dated gear! Amaranth brings up a good point...I've kept some of my dated gear the way it is without selling or converting it because it's a specific color and/or something that isn't available in non-dated form! It would be nice if you could at least give us back/give us new recipes to make non-dated versions of the things we don't want to lose!

I honestly would prefer that they deleted every dated gear and recipe coupled with them. Even though I'm carrying a few pieces still in my inventory. However, that does not mean I'm really looking forward to it. For the next simple reason.

Not all dated gear are available in the current recipes like some people have mentioned here. Being it their looks or color palette. I don't want to lose some of my coatees and mocassins, because for some reason S-E thought it to be a good idea to make new recipes but remove some of the colors or appearance of them.

To conclude. I really would be behind the decision to remove them all if they find a way to include those missing equips/colors into the new recipes.

I would go with Getty rid of it all and giving the players with it in their inventory give them Gil for it when they come back in ARR
