When beta comes 1.0 FFXI servers are going down?

GW2 contrary to popular belief is not the Promised Land. I think it's going to be the opposite actually, people will come from there to here.

I've decided I'm just going to wait until XIV's servers are down for this duration of time to play skyrims new content heh.

I expect there to be 100's of "I'm missing X item" threads. Consisting of mostly people who forgot they put X item on their retainer.

There will be many items missing for people, as I am sure many people will forget or have not read (in any detail) that there will be many items that exist now but will not be in 2.0.
From all that I have gathered
- All Dated gear will be removed, if you have any it would be best to turn it to materia or dump it on an npc.
- All legacy materials used in the old synths 1.19 noted the items that were discontinued (you will see notes on sites like gamerscape or mooglebox)(including some items that you can get in leves (as they were not updated and will give you these items)) (Eg. Buffalo hides, chestnut logs, etc)

There will also be serveral thread about missing achievements, or achievements partially done that are no longer in the list. This list of what will be gone is already up, there may be more listed before then.
- If you complete the achievement, while it won't be in the list you still get the points for it (will these points be usable?). Although this may show up in some way where you can see legacy achievements (either in game or on lodestone (TBD)
- If it is being removed and you did not complete it, it will still not show up anywhere on your list although you will still retain the points for the partial achievement parts.
- If the achievement is still going to be there, it will show your existing progress, although some of the requirements may be changing (what that means is still TBA). My understanding is if the requirements change you may have to start that portion of the achievement over (however completed portions will remain completed (that could be wrong or change))


I will not be at all surprised when the 100s of why SE and why is it missing, etc. We have been warned, but that won't stop the threads.

Yup that's interview I was going to link for you. I was saying because lot of people seem to believe that there will only be amonth or two of no ffxiv until 2.0. I'm just waiting for the storm of rage to hit these forums when they find out. I figured you didnt know either since you just found out about one in op.

Yeah thanks for pointing it out. I searched for that interview after your post and found it. I'm kind of trying to get up to date here on a lot of information because I took a break from the game for a while to play Diablo III. This came as a shock to me.

Is their a list of all items (Buffalo Leather) etc., That are going to disappear. As a recently returned player I wanna clean retainers before all the changes happen. Might free up space too !!!

If anyone can provide a link to crafting items that are phased out, I would appreciate it.

Anything tagged 'dated' will no longer be possible to create come 2.0 -- also any recipes that will create dated items will be removed but not the ingredients themselves excluding +2 and +3 variants which I believe they already pretty much made +1/+2/+3 act the same in terms of HQ chances.

That time frame was already mentioned on page two.

meh, I have my Founder's pack for MWO, so whether I get into the beta or not, I'll be kept busy.
