Regional Servers? (Opinions please)

Am I missing something here? As far as I understood Ragnarok was a preferred EU server, I still see JP and US players on the server, not as many thought but still, does this then validate as EU server? (This is in regards to people calling Ragnarok an EU server)

I prefer Global servers.

Ragnarok is the recommended EU timezone server.

Exactly what I said preferred EU, and as the server is still in Japan and there are still US and JP players I think calling it EU server just isn't right.

FFXIV and FFXI are the only games I know of that allow me to play with people across the globe, if they were segregated to their own servers, then I'd no doubt, quit.

any possibility of minor latency relief is severely outweighed by loss of worldwide community. I would much rather deal with the latency.

And i'm 100% sure that international ones will coesist. So i don't see where is the problem.

To answer OP's question, probably. I don't really mind much one way or the other but I would slightly prefer having regional servers. I never understood why the servers are the way they are anyway, in FFXI too. However, if it helps out connections to be faster or something then I'd be all for it. Sorry for my ignorance if that doesn't make sense. I know nothing about how servers work.

If they are going to keep us stuck on servers with people who don't speak our language, they could at least do away with the auto translate and add a full translation function like any of the many free online translator sites have.
