Imagine doing a raid in World of Warcraft with 400ms and 3 seconds input lag.
And now think about regional server where you could actually play the game WITHOUT this bs.

Look, we all been through this
I also have my share on die-with-crack several time
But I learn to live with it, and at the end I won anyway
2.0, hopefully, will handle this matter better than now, without having to create another problem
I wouldn't mind if there was a server centered around our areas for better latency, but I absolutely do not want those servers to be a local hang-out and act as a shunning ground for people from the rest of the world. I like our open world servers.
no whole point of mmo's from square enix were always based on cooperation and always allowed intermingling of different people unless you want to make 1 regional server were only chinese people can play on i see no point in this because to be honest 90% of chinese players i have ever seen on ffxi were always RMT.
Yes to region servers. I love being able to talk, communicate, and schedule people during times which are the most convenient for me. Global servers hinder that effort. Secondly, using auto translate is not an effective tool to do content with.
Nothing wrong with that, and nothing wrong with wanting to play with international players if you choose so.
Thus, the proper solution is a mixture of servers.
You guys do know that even if they wanted to create regional servers they can't because it would just seperate the very few players they have undoing the server merges they did?
IF they are coming , i expect it to be atleast a year after 2.0 to see if they can afford to seperate them if they gain enough players between the regions to allow players to play without the loss of other players to play with
Then again, there is the "Content finder" in 2.0.... which then, it won't matter at all, if they implement it and correctly, the server populations won't matter >.>
I wonder if there's a half-way solution, keeping the main server itself in Japan but having regional servers for instances. It could determine which area has the lowest ping for the majority of the party, and offload the work for the battle there.
