seriously tho, i think the majority of all posts made on this forum demand changes.
Maybe you should take some time and have a read, there are zillions of threads with ideas.
it is the minority of posts that are against certain changes and even then its usually never one-sided.

They're not going to keep the servers running indefinitely to support such a small fanbase. You're right, I have definitely seen plenty of well-reasoned posts that acknowledge change is necessary, this post is meant more for that vocal bunch that are staunchly against any changes and keep attacking all other MMOs. I have really enjoyed a lot of the suggested changes, but I go crazy when I start reading the responses.

Of course the game needs changes. The problem isn't primarily whether or not there should be changes, it's the lack of consensus of what the changes should be. That and the fact that many changes are, as you mentioned, either instantly flamed as pushing the game towards being a WoW-clone or pushing it towards being FFXI 2.0.

I have faith they'll sort themselves out somehow it's really more a question of when than anything else.

Also, hmm.. which one... Go play Rift, because it has rifts.

I'm surprised no one else has sad it yet considering thats usually one of the first lines to sprout out when any new feature another MMO may use that is planned to be added to this game. I agree with you OP, and I hope you have your flame shield +1 equipped because there are some rabid zealots that will spit serious flame at you for this post.

I should also note that I used autoattack just as an example, because to me, the combat system is one of the biggest problems with the game right now. I don't think just adding autoattack will fix it, either. I think the combat needs to be rebalanced with autoattack in mind but that's all for another thread.

This makes me laugh. So you want the game to stay the same? If that happens the game fails. Hell the game is failing a little each day. So they only way to save the game is by changing it.

You might be right, I haven't read every single thread out there, but I haven't seen anything from someone against autoattack who actually proposes a way to fix the current system. In all seriousness I'd love to see an example if you have one.

Oh and during alpha and beta I was fighting against the people who kept saying, "Guys, everything's fine! I'm sure the game will be nothing like this when it's released!".
