Discontinued Content in FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn

It will not be possible to re-watch the cutscenes from all of the 7th Umbral related quests and events that are not available in A Realm Reborn.

Would be nice if you could include precisely which quests will be discontinued in A Realm Reborn in the "Discontinued Content" list. We can imagine that cutscenes relevant to these quests won't exist anymore and won't be viewable

In addition, since we are changing the graphics engine, all quests will be revamped and won’t be exactly as they are in the current version.

When you say "revamped" and "not exactly as they are in the current version", I hope you only mean from a cinematics point of view (new models, lightings, camera angles and movements), and not the storyline and content. I couldn't care less if the cinematics are touched up (It's a new engine, it's probably not compatible with the old cinematics), but so far no one has been clear about whether the *content* of these cutscenes is unchanged or totally new in A Realm Reborn.

I think that if the quest storylines are different, the quests should be counted as new and not yet completed so that existing players can experience them fully (and not just the cutscenes). For example, if a player does the Carpenter 36 Class Quest in the current version, but A Realm Reborn's take on the CRP36 quest is totally different, it should not count as completed otherwise the player will not get to fully experience the new quest in A Realm Reborn with his current character.

I don't mind "re-doing" quests I've "already done" (well, if they're different, can't really say it's re-doing them), but I would seriously mind having to start over leveling a new character just to experience the new versions of quests because my character has "already done" them and is locked out.

With that said, feel free to record and save the current versions quests for your own pleasure but please don’t post them or upload them anywhere.

Might just do that for posterity and comparison's sake!

I'm a bit worried about the same thing. I don't think I can get all my crafts to 36 and still enjoy all the other content that's coming out. Actually, I do plan on leaving some of them alone for after A Realm Reborn so that I can see what leveling is like in the new era, but I'll regret not knowing the current version of the quests.
