That's lost potential. Achievement points could've been used in such an ingenious way, but without equality for old and new it wouldn't go over well at all. You guys just failed so hard in my eyes with your shortsightedness.
It will go over just fine and they are not bieng shortsighted. LOL....
There is nothing wrong with rewarding the efforts of the current players with some extra stuff that can't be done after. They've already done it with the goobbue mounts. Are you saying that those who put up with version 1.0 through thick and thin don't deserve to be recognized for it?
You know, there are a few games out there where the world literally constantly changes, and the same thing never happens twice. Beat a big boss, and it's gone forever (a similar one might eventually appear somewhere else, but it still wont be exactly the same). IT"S SO UNFAIR! I CANT DO WHAT THAT GUY DID! give me a break... It's complaints like yours that limit creativity and what developers are allowed to do with a game.
1) Why would you be constantly aggrivated by artificial designated achievements that you didn't complete? Why would you need to consciously choose to hide them? You'll still know they're there, so I don't see this having any effect.I'm constantly reminded of the one or two Achievements which I missed. A method to hide them
If you stop playing to win the achievements and start playing because the game is fun, you will stop being aggrivated by them.
This is how I play all my games. I always enjoyed the thrill of unlocking secrets and killing special bosses but I've never understood this obsession with unlocking achievements. I've always put in excessive hours and work into killing secret bosses just for the experience of killing said boss.
Like killing that level 4000 Baal in the original Disgaea, avenging Laharl's father and becoming the Tyrant Overlord. Now THAT I feel, is an achievement. Not highlight a little sticker labeled "Secret Uber Boss Slayer!". I actually find those pop-up notices quite annoying. Whenever I see some ridiculously in-practical and no fun achievement like "Clear stage without getting hit or missing or touching the floor under 5 minutes" I just go "lol pass."

Because that is seriously in that game. (well, not all three AT THE SAME TIME but one after the other) I mean, okay, it's not a useless Achivement, it's part of a 'score attack' portion of the game to unlock the most powerful weapon of the entire game, but still.
lol I didn't actually. I just made up the list from some generic absurd achievements.Did you play Kingdom Hearts: re:Coded?

This is a really late response because I've taken to not following up on things. Forum idiocy isn't something I very much care to deal with anymore. I just happened upon a post I wasn't looking for, and here I am.
Ingenuity is called what it is for a reason. It will go over just fine and they are not bieng shortsighted. LOL....

Thing is, when it comes to forums I have a tendency to be vague to provoke thought. Usually people don't see it, so this is not wholly unexpected. I just wasn't expecting it from you. Or maybe I have you mixed up with someone. Another thing in this case is I am somewhat partial to not helping SE be successful because I one day dream to create games, and playing for a rival isn't without repercussions.
But say what you will, mock as you please. It will only fulfill the age-old saying.
