Press and player reactions to the new XIV

It amazes me how many people care to read the opinions of other people and try to improve them if they think that those opinions are not as good as theirs. If you enjoy the game, continue doing so, there is no reason to force your opinion on others. People on this thread are all about "saving the game" and "oh look how mean these comments are" etc.
Leave those worries to developers, who get paid for making a game good enough for people to pay money for.
You are suppose to enjoy the game and pay for it. That's about it.

maybe we have to expect more in a near futur, but if they plan to sale game with this bad commercial...trust me its a fail.
I do love the game and hope to see more players coming. I dont want to see FFXIV going in the long list of bad MMO. The plan for SE is to sell copy of the game...but with a bad amateur commercial like they sure wont get many costumer.

They were wrong as you were right now. Who are you, that you have the right to make decisions for other people,when you do nothing but screaming out your personal opinion?

I will give you an example:

Example 1 ( Bad Review ):

The leve's are stupid.

Example 2 ( Good Review ):

The leve-System allows you to explore the Area's either solo or in a Group up to 8 people. You can set difficulty from 1 Star to 5 Stars, which will increase the level of the Mobs. There is a Time-Limit on Leve's, which can be i.e. 10 Minutes for certain ones, or 30 Minutes for the common ones. The Leve's tend to vary between collecting Items, over killing a group's of mobs, to kill NM's which are similiar, but weaker, than the Openworld NM's i.e. Great Buffalo.

I'm not a native english speaking person, so i'm sorry if i didnt write it 100% correct, but you should get what it means to be constructive and just "explain" certain Aspects of a Game and it Systems. Of course you also have to point out certain restrictions, as how leve's are limited to 99 at its max etc, but yeah you should get it anyways.

MOST of the Reviews, are just build on personal opinions like example 1.

What you wrote is not a review is basically propaganda. people don't read reviews to read what the developer should our should have not done in order to fix the flaws of the game, or improve it, that is not the job of reviewers, their job is to condense the entire experience and give a simple direct overview of the entire game, is it fun ? yes and why, you will like this because so so, or you will not because so so, and btw leves suck, they are worse than wow spam quests, for those alteast have a semblance of lore and progression, leves have none.....

Propaganda is exactly what all those reviews are, which you describe at being "correct" and you totally failed for it.

Still have to stay objective without putting in personal opinions, because it will simple lead to that people will missinterprets the words. Personal opinions can be written on a Sidenote, but should never ever be implemented into the review itself... period.

You are suppose to enjoy the game and pay for it. That's about it.

This is usually the advice I would give but in the case of FF14 it doesn't apply. Perhaps the only case I can think of where it doesn't simply because even SE say the game sucked and they are going to make it something else. Even if I enjoyed the game I bought almost 2 years ago, that game is gone.

Again Planetside 2 is not FFXIV, Planetside 2 is a sequel to a moderate successful game planetside 1, it has it's own niche market, it is not competing with any of the other MMOS, also is a fresh tittle, it has not failed at release and has promised the world to it's players, to compare planetside 2 to FFXIV is just plain stupid.

FFXIV had a failed launch, it lost the vast majority of it's player base a month after release, most people who bought the game have not been keeping up with every single update, they just remember the failure it was at release, a CGI ala call of duty is not gonna change their minds, SE needs to show them, that the game has changed, how it has changed, what is in store in 2.0 and stop treating 2.0 like a entirely new tittle, it is not a new IP, is more alike to a mini expansion, with a full engine rebuild. Unless SE proves otherwise.

There's a grain of truth in those last 2 sentences.
Will 2.0 really be a new game or are we just making it out to be one based on the lack of information and high expectations that grew out of crushed expectations.

Fool me once... I think it's just better to wait and see before jumping into any conclusions.

Btw from player's perspective I don't see how it makes any difference if those hud elements were shopped or not. It's their plan of the new hud they're showing either way.

Personally I'd like to see the ps3 hud next.
