    casual

do you think this game is going to be casual or become hardcore. I would like it to have a balance. I played 11 and liked it. I once had the time and spent hours with it. Now I spend less time playing 11 but still like MMOs and think there fun.

I just don't want to see 14 turn out like 11. although I seem to be a minority. Most people seem to want the game to be hardcore requiring a major time dump to get anything done and don't get me started on finding people to do things.

They said they have two system in mind

8player : Which be more of hardcore feel you need to plan out your battle and it be a hard fight. Maybe need two tanks and two healers and strong well DD.

4player: More casual just need a tank, healer and w/e looking. not much of a hard battle pretty easy straight forward need less planing and more doing.

If follow with this system that they said going to be in FFXIV, Then this game would be casual / hardcore for sure. They also said they be high level gear you can get by doing quest that would be chain of quest. so a lot of quest just to get one item but it be a bad ass item

Finding ppl of any amount is still time consuming, he don't want ff14 be more time consuming. Where there is a group of ppl who are against a less time consuming game. Making rediculous agruments over stuff.

Id like a less time consuming mmo. I played ff11 til the mid of feb of this year. And doing almost anything was 1-4 hours long. Or longer.

games are what you make of them personally. I just want ppl stop start being happy so i can buy the ps3 version once its launched.

Personally i woulld prefer harcore, but this system sounds completely spot on.

    10/10 if this is achievable

    True Strike!

With that system, 8ppl party may win more exp, killing harder mobs, and the 4ppl parties may gain less exp, killing weaker mobs. Everyone may look for a bigger party If they have time, or just the 4ppl to play a few hours.

It seems a good thing to me.
Anyway, there will alway be levequests.

The only thing I hope, is that they implement Content like Promathia and Zilart Mission, in wich ones you will Require 8 ppl parties to do the quests.
Maybe they can implement Alliance quests, to get the items that, may require a hell of secondary quests to obtain.

Not a bad idea but well... we will see what becomes.

One thing that I'm sure, is that casual people, usually don't play MMO, so at the end, maybe this will became into another FFXI (in difficult, quests, etc... not in systems and all)

Trying to cater to everyone will only hurt the game. Pick a direction and go full speed ahead, i'll be fine with casual or hardcore.

I just want SE to make the game they envision, pick a direction after considering some feedback on their ideas, and then stick to it. Screw what people want, because it will always be an endless cycle of going back and forth.

Exactly, they have the system to impliment this. Be expanding on this system a little they can impliment a game which is great for all players. casual, hardcore, or simply curious about MMO's.

The leve system isnt a joke, it (like all ffxiv) needs some work tho. like you suggested, splitting the party allowences gives players alot more opportunity to fine-tune their gaming experience

Banking on PS3 release is the only thing left for this game. Casual and console gaming are big bucks, they realize this and will plan accordingly. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Casual all the way.

There is nothing hardcore about an eight player group.

am sorry i find it hard to believe you can't find 3 other members who doing the same thing as you. what you want this game 100% solo?

It's called a MMO if ppl want to play by themself and solo everything and less time consuming. Go play a Offline game -.- can't we meet a middle ground here? 4 players for casual is good enough you don't even have to plan much its go in and fight from what Yoshi-p if casual have problem with it then don't play then.....

I'm sorry but casual players are really starting to bug me they seem like they can't meet anywhere in the middle i hoping yoshi-p still does this system it help both hardcore and Casual give both what they want.

@warp: 8 party you need to plan it out and it be a harder boss and you would need more of a team work then 4 player if you want casual go play wow or play offline game -.-

for the love of god casual players meet us in the middle or play something else not everyone here is casual.
