    So the Skirmish weapon can be melded.

    Seeing as it's stats compares with Ifrit/Moogle/Leutenant by itself, this Axe has a lot of potential in it.

    With the right melds, and if lucky enough to get Double/Triple, could it become one of the best Axes in the game?

    Even better, you can have more than one, so if you ever get 2... make a Tank Axe and a DD axe.

    Yeah pretty pumped about this. Did the turtleback one and only got the mage weapons from it though.

    Just really need a dedicated group to do these constantly and should be fine. I love endurance fights and we finally got one!

    The 39 dps means your WS will be weaker than garudas or liuetenant weps. It wont be the best weps tbh despite the melds.

    Yep.

    There is no meld to increase DPS/base damage/reduce delay. All you can do is stack either Atk, Acc, Enmity, Str, Vit, Dex, crit atk or parry.

    The DPS is very close to the Sergeant's axe. It's feasible that even though the base DPS is lower that you could get higher (parsed) DPS than the other weapons. Some testing will be needed though. For example, if you are not at the STR cap, but have the sergeant's axe, you could meld some STR to the skirmish axe to reach the cap, which could in theory raise your (parsed) dps higher than what you had with the sergeant's axe. This is my current scenario, so once I get a double melded axe with STR or some combination of STR and +attk, etc I'll do some testing.

    If you can manage to get a tripple/quad meld weapons, and also a couple of tripple/quad meld pieces to hit stat caps you can open up gear options to have capped stats and stack on extra crit rate/potency to tilt your DPS higher. it's certainly possible.

    however i dont' expect this to happen for a while, as many people have trouble just getting double melds, let alone triple/quad.

    A small double meld would put me over the STR cap, (off the top of my head, I think I need 23 more str to reach 350) so I honestly don't think a triple is needed to make the axe better for me than the sergeant's axe.

    You can alraedy reach stat cap these days with primal/sergeant weapon, if you can afford double melds on these weapons, i am sure as hell you already have stat cap either way.

    afaik, you need at least one triple meld to reach the STR cap. Maybe two. I have +41 str on my gloves and +20 on my pants and am not at the cap.

    Tbh though, even if these weapons aren't better than primal weapons, I'd still go after a double or triple melded one because that's what I like to do.

    The DPS is already lower then Ifrit's Axe. Garuda's Axe has the equivalent of a double meld acc/critatkpower on it, so there is little you can do to surpass that.

    Other factors can go into raising your dps then just hitting the stat cap's. Not all WS area equally based off your main stat. Mnk for example gets a huge bonus to Howling Fist from crit atk power and will do more damage with lower caps if you pump that up.

    If you can't kill Garuda then yes, these are a decent replacement until you can but to think you can double/triple meld str on it and be doing consistent better dps then someone with a Garuda/GC axe is a pipe dream.
