FFXI AH Excitement

Last night I was checking my retainers and realized that as it loads all I'm looking at is the "0" that is the placeholder for whatever the current gil count is on my retainer.

I knew that if it went up..(if I could even remember what it previously was) then something sold. Then I had to remember what it was that I was selling that is no longer in my Bazaar.

Then I got a picture in my head of FFXI and checking the AH. It was so exciting watching the gil pop in those little boxes. And how about those times when it filled up and you had to close out an refresh to see more. It also told you exactly what sold and for how much.

I know there are big changes coming soon and I have little doubt that the new system will be better. (it has to be...right?)

Anyway...for some reason those FFXI moments of AH excitement popped in my head....and I wanted to share.

I keep telling myself this. there's no way they can totally screw up something as simple as markets.. again... RIGHT? C'MON SE. RIGHT? *face in hands sobbing*

at first i was happy at the thought of no AH's. Thought it would help prevent major over inflation of prices. But after seeing the clusterf*ck that is the market wards, I pray they bring back AH's. I mean if they simply remove the purchase history amounts i think that would help. This way people won't see they can charge an outrageous amounts for a piece of gear.

Yes, every single level it was like that. I don't feel the same in 14. Is it because I level up so fast?...or limited selection?

You level too fast so most gear from 1-40 is pretty damn useless lol.

LOL, i did the same exact thing. I would rush to the AH in whitegate only to find the item i wanted was sold out and the last one for sale was sold a few minutes ago. then it was hurry up and wait for someone to put on up for sale.

Lets not forget most gear will probably be obtained via quests in those levels as well.
