If the game feels as bad as 1.0 felt on launch, my heart will be broken.
It's a good thing that it seems impossible for that to happen.

Deal breaker: If there isnt a ready check feature. God! I just NEED one!!!

Make selling things easier, not having to have a note pad at hand to write down current prices to then run back to my retainer and set the items for sale would be great!
Oh and map markers, lots and lots of map markers.

Good storyline.
I guess my deal-breaker (though not really because I'll still play) is PvP. I'm not asking for it to be copy and paste from WoW but I loved their PvP. I hope we have things like capture the flag etc... I could go on all day about pvp lol, but I'll just say I really hope a lot is put into it.

Compulsory server segregation will make me quit.
If this is not fixed with 2.0... all hope is lost for me in this game...
Nothing I hate more than seeing a new player /shout for help with Imperial Devices for a solid 2 hours whilst a couple of people toggle mog weapons on and off...
(the '2 hours' detail is based off of hearsay evidence from the new player himself...)

I like 2 things tanking and stealth-like classes. I dont really play any other roles. That being said, If Tanking were a 1, then being a thief/ninja would be a 10. So basically what Im saying is that sooner or later (not too late, otherwise I might stop playing and come back later) I will have to have a thief or ninja or both (even if thats basically what they are but named differently).
Deal Breaker = No Thief or Ninja class
Soloution = Mke a Thief or Ninja class. :b

RNG, more specifically RNG that puts you back to square one...
It just gets so frustrating after your 10th attempt and it blows up. (loosing the melded gear instead of just the materia you want to meld on to it... loosing the double meld you had before as an example. I get it has to be rare but does it have to be so frustrating?)
Another example is grinding the same content (dungeons and primals amongst other things...) 30 times to get maybe one drop out of the set. It gets to the point where it's no longer entertaining and just monotonous. Some people might like the casino style system, however I'm not one of them.
I can take grinding for xp, I'll have a good estimate on when I will reach my goal. Grinding dungeon drops not so much, especially when the drop rate is = or < 10%. Why would I want to repeat it after I'm done? Miss a patch? Too bad, people moved on and you miss the content.
Please, no more RNG where the result is all or nothing. As a LS member said, when you gamble, it's always stacked in favor of the house (10% RNG success anyone?).
Ohh turned into a bit of a rant... whoops

Random things that create really good roleplaying opportunities. Little caves like we have now with nothing in them except some nice scenery, chairs we can sit in, amphitheaters, taverns, things like that. I can't get into MMO's that lack things for roleplaying.
Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
