Rokien's new thread on multiple character slots

The multiple characters thing is huge for role players. With eight characters they can create a deeper cast of characters.

I suppose. I guess folks do things differently, i.e. making the NPCs behind their story and dressing them up accordingly to act out. It probably does beat imagining that the NPC is there haha.

And in all honesty, if no one voiced their disagreement towards some of his bad ideas then there would only be support for it. And you can see where that would lead...

and then for some reason glorify it in their signature? It's just downright rude in my opinion. at least Eekiki does respect his option to post his opinion. I almost think alot of people on the Rokien hate-train are doing it just because others are and they want to be like the cool kids.

Hi, I'm Amy. About half of my 360 posts are of me disagreeing with people. When I disagree with someone, I tend to voice my opinion. I am not on any kind of train nor do I simply follow trends. I do not think Rokien does not deserve the right to post and I do respect his freedom to do so. Yes, I find the it funny that he makes a post about almost everything he can think of and that he makes posts about his posts and posts when his posts get locked, but I do not only post "LOLKIEN!" posts, most of mine directed towards him are my voicing my dislike of his ideas. I have a sense of humor and I'm sorry if you find it "disrespectful" to him, but it's all in good humor. I mean come on when he posts "I have a thread for that" you just gotta say something. It's too good to pass up.

Unrelated side note, I love your bestiary and monster AI posts, I supported both of them a while back. Hope to see that in 2.0 ^-^)/

if it wasn't for Rokien I would have very dull days at work, when he was gone for that month this forum was practically dead for me.

I know all of your posts aren't about him. But I don't think people realize that Rokien thrives on the attention he gets, it's obviously intentional most of what he does but people continue to feed him. I guess it's a symbiotic relationship.

I just wish people would stop feeding his threads with nonsense because some people actually like to try and talk about the subject at hand and not the topic creator. If you didn't put on such a show when he bumps his threads or makes a thread about a thread he would lose interest in doing so much more quickly.

It's just anoying when he brings up something like not wanting all 8 character slots to be used for storage purposes and people actually discussing about it burried under.

I've seen the same point on retainers being linked to our account instead of characters 3 different times in this thread and each time discussion got burried by posts irrelvant to the topic and hand and just pointed at spitting venom at Rokien. I don't mean to target you individually it's a good 60% of forum posters who fall for the trap and kill legitimate discussion on topics.

It's hard to just make a new topic without Rokiens name in it on a subject because the mere thought of it being a idea Rokien thought of seems to poison peoples minds.

Those of us who fall into the group of people who respond to his posts with your stock "LOLKIEN" or similar, are doing so to make a point. The point I made with my first response here is "I've seen enough Rokien posts to know where this is heading."

All of us have tried to have a reasonable, respectful debate over Rokien's ideas and opinions in the past. It doesn't work, because Rokien quickly becomes belligerant with anyone who disagrees with him. Since reasonable debate is futile, and we don't have the ability to downvote his posts, the best we can do is just say "LOLROKIEN /10char" and continue with our days.

I feel like we've had this discussion before, too... ^_^

Well in all fairness, the retainer idea wasn't that good. It still penalizes you.
Not being able to mail to characters on the same account on the other hand? Muuuuuch better idea.

But to your main point, this is the nature of people anyway. I'll give you an example, when Mel Gibson says something horribly offensive to minorities, look at what happens. People stopped saying "Look how offensive this is!" after a few times and start saying "Lol look at what Mel Gibson said this time" and it gets plastered everywhere and no one talks about how horrible the things he said and just makes fun of it.
So in other words, Rokien is the Mel Gibson of the FFXIV forums.

It's amazing how much you guys hate on Rokien yet the people who hate on him are almost the sole reason his posts stay on the first page for so long even after whatever slight discussion was to be had finished pages ago.

Congratulations on perpetuating your object of hate.

Because there is no dislike bar people have to voice their opinion via making a reply. Otherwise you would only see support for his ideas and you know where that would lead.
