Final Fantasy XIV is perfect as is, why change anything?

While Tanaka took the heat for all the criticisms of FFXIV Yoshida went in like a white knight to steal any redeeming qualities Tanaka made for the game.

Yoshida is taking credit for a game that was already built from the ground up, so why should I praise him as much as Tanaka? I think if Tanaka wasn't forced to resign then FFXIV would have been much better off.

The game at its current state is fun at the beginning but once you play it for a month or so, you do get bored (well in my case ) =/. But once more areas are accessible, more content is implemented, the game will reach the glory it deserves =P

Hey, I think this game needs great improvements, but I can kind of agree with what Zey is saying.

If we were still on Tanaka's timeline, there would be a lot of interesting things happening in the game right now according to the old dev team patch time line compared to the one that we have now.

A part of me wonders how things would be different if Tanaka didn't resign from the producer position.

I've played FINAL FANTASY XI for almost 6 straight years. I've played 2x 3 month WoW (3 month basic and 3 month burning crusade) and i played 4 month Aion. Every time i went back to FFXI, because that was just MY game. Till the time i quit, FFXI was almost perfect for me in every way it was. The difficulty of the game, the large content (i started with Rise of the Zilart), the friendly and always helping community, the fact that i was able to play with people from all around the world. I enjoyed the "JP-Only" Party's and Chains of Promathia still brings tears to my eyes. That was just epic.

I've some MMO Experience. I may not be as analytic as other are. But i can say, that FINAL FANTASY XIV is NOT perfect. It is GOOD, it has A LOT of potential. But far away from perfect. And it'll never be perfect. Because there isn't something like perfect. The time something is perfect for you, it's imperfect for someone else.

And just because Yoshida is now in control, and i really like him so far, dosn't mean Tanaka is a bad man. No one ever said that he's done everything wrong and no one said that Yoshida is something like the God of Producers. Tanaka build the ground, Yoshida is doing the "Touch up" now. And so far, he hasn't run out of Durabilty. ;-)

I really like FFXIV. Even in the first month, up until now, there wasn't a time i was really bored. But that's probably because being a craftsman and gatherer just tales more time to accomplish and you just have more to do. Skill, Craft Items for money, go and farm or browse the market, buy, resell and so on. And you don't really expect and High-End Content for Crafters. So you can sit there all day and craft and gather while fighters start to get bored because there is nothing else for them to do.

I can totaly understand both sides. The one who're bored and the ones who're fine. For the last ones, it's probably most of the casual players. And that's okay. That's you oppinion. But i know some more casual players. And i can say: Even most of them arn't 100% satisfied with the game as it is now.

I know people who want to quit if there arn't any changes. And i know people who'll quit if there are changes. SE can't please them all. There might be a time SE will implement something that'll make me quit. That's possible if the game starts to get to easy - like WoW. But while one person will quit, two or three others may come back, because of the new implemented easyness (is that even a word o.o?).

So, at the moment one is happy, another one might be sad.

FFXIV improved FFXI in almost every way possible, and yet people don't realize how great this game really is.

I don't have the luxury of time to play as much as most but with the XP limitations I'm still caught up with the majority of players still playing.

Best of all is the fact that im playing FFXIV for free! I would pay $20 a month if i had to to keep playing this gem.

I say keep the game as it is, Tanaka did a fantastic job with FFXIV.
