Ow, my eyes.
I don't think we know enough about 2.0 to pass judgement either way at this point.

I myself want more open world content and a game that isnt on baby mode. Currently this game is easy mode and it seems as though Yoshi will make it baby mode come 2.0. I find quest leveling and story level just plain boring. I myself want to be able to grind where, when and how I WANT.
I also look at the other players around me and I understand that not everyone has time to do everything, but to make this game even easier isnt the answer. This is a sad day if and when SE re-releases FFXIV with nothing but instances and quest leveling. I will say it and some may not like it but open world content needs to be like it was in FFXI. FFXI has a huge world with a lot of stuff to do. In FFXIV yes we have open world but nothing of great importance. If SE takes this game to just quests and story based leveling there will be a great number of players who will leave and never return.
The issue at hand is SE and the DEV's can not seem to strike a balance between hardcore, mid players and casuals, and look at what we have know and look at what the interviews that have been done. FFXIV is way off base as long as they continue at thier current rate. SE and the DEV's need to strike a balance for all the player base, from hardcore to casuals etc. In the end there is a great possiblity that FFXIV 2.0 will fail if they can not strike a balance between hardcore mid players and casuals.

As I stated in another thread:
Also who do you really think you are that you would question the Producer of the game with such tenacity? We all may not agree with every decision he makes and on occasion we have had things changed, however it is ultimately his game to lead as he sees fit. It is for us to voice our opinion and then decide if the game he is making is the one we want to play. The devs have stated that there will be more open-world content and it's not like they're re-doing the maps just to look pretty. They'll fill those maps with things to do, instanced or not. However that being said, it does seem like a lot of the content is shifting to instanced despite the loud "discussions" in opposition. The community has spoken at length about this many times and still the devs are doing mostly what they want to and what they feel is right for the game. If instanced content really kills the game for you then perhaps FFXIV is not for you, even in 2.0. I would suggest people take the time to consider how much this all really matters to them and evaluate their choice to keep playing.

However, Raldo, preemptive criticism might alert the developers about the feelings and wants of the community before it is too late. Even if it turns out that we're jumping the gun without reason.
BTW, good to see you here! ^^
