This is the open world stuff I've been looking for: Thanks reinheart for trans

"Also in 2.0 we are plannin and developing where not only Friendly NPC and Bad NPC fights each other but have situation where the bad NPC with some requirements can be turned to friendly NPC."

    More of this stuff please~o

Thank you for bringing this up for discussion.

This issue deals with the lore and the game system so I would like to explain them separately.

    •Lore
Currently, each grand company does not have enough military force to cover the entire region. Using Ul’dah as an example, the Immortals’ military forces are not sufficient enough to patrol and defend Thanalan. Essentially they are allowing the Amalj’aa tribe and Garlean Empire to invade.

With limited military forces, defense strategies are planned accordingly and critical areas are prioritized for military placement. With this said, if there are any attacks outside of the cities, militias and adventurers may participate in the battle. (These are the random Garlean Empire invasion live events)

Also, something that players do not see are the ensuing battles between Grand Company forces and the Garlean Empire forces.

Why do Garlean forces spread out their forces instead of concentrating them? Players may just be able to find out by playing the content in patch 1.22. And the world in version 2.0...?! Oh wait, if I reveal this Yoshi-P will kill me, so I’d better keep it a secret.

    •Game system
In patch 1.22 players will be able to fight enemies together with NPCs in “Hamlet Defense,” not alongside Grand Company forces but with the militia.

Also, in 2.0, not only will players fight enemy NPCs with ally NPCs, players will be able to convert enemy NPCs into allies by fulfilling certain requirements. Many interesting scenarios are in development!

Is fairly common in MMO's to have this.

    Please give examples

Also even if they do, I'm sure they are not dynamic, I would hope they would put some dynamicness into it.

Two that I can think of are.

    WoW:-
NPC's patrol the road and villages attacking aggressive monsters that stray onto the roads.
(in fact all NPC's have AI that require them to attack a threat to them or their faction)

    Rift:-
NPC holdings and camps are attacked dynamically, enemies can kill the NPCs and completely take over the camp, requiring players to take back the camp.

You could also do quests and kill opposing factions to gain favour with NPC's turning them friendly.

    I edited my post.

Example in Booty bay you can kill goblins to increase your standing with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, which means that enemies become friendly you can then buy items from their shops and do quests etc.

You can them kill the pirates and realign your faction with the goblins (it takes ten of thousand of kills though)

There are many cases of increasing faction with NPC's making them friendly, the Ogre's of Orga'la for example start of as enemies and though a quest you make them friendly and further increase your standing allowing you to buy items and armour from them.

Well ya, that's simple, I would like something like effects the whole world standing. So if someone does something to something it effects everyone.

Of course it would be accumulative
