I think this is being taken out of context. I doubt they will remove the possibility of grinding. They sound like they are putting, ore effort and emphasis on group and solo quests.

It's about making leveling more organic and lively not just a kill 100 of these creatures but rather go through dungeons, do story and do quest to reach your lv. If it's done anything like SWTOR it'll definitely be something to look forward to.
look how swtor is doing now, they are going to go free to play. Yep, I really want that quality!~
And still doing a million point three times better than FFXIV, the problem that Swotor had/has is a problem that FFXIV needs to address wish is "End game Content"
If this game is done in any way shape or form like SWTOR. I'm done.
Luckily, even Yoshida didn't like that game.
Exactly bro! I believe people are taken this: Killing monsters for exp will not work" line and making its really sound like "killing for exp will not happen" That's not how I see it.
I believe that's how he just " feels like most players are feeling to him Kill Marmot 50 times.. kill Raptors 200 times... kill beastman 500 times... I agree it can get boring after awhile.. so to ease up on the repetitiveness, he's working hard to make alot of quests so if you feel like you need to stop and take a break from kill endless amounts of monsters you can.
This is what I believe is to be the case.
