how will this new system work if your leveling 20 jobs? Or are they going to focus more on leve like system? And can we still level off monsters...hmmm.
we wont know entirely how the leveling system will be until the promo site goes live, more letters are produced and also visble proof of the new leveling system. but hopefully yoshi will give all types of players many ways to get fair/decent amount of exp. wether its leves, sidequest, dungeous, hamlet defense, main storyline, mob camp partys, etc. With 2.0 being so critical for 14 future forcing players new and old to conform to one method (or maybe two ways) of leveling is insane and will cause outrage along with another failure of the game.
to me multiple ways of getting exp will be the key to 2.0 success, yoshi main goal is to get as many as subscribtions as possible, so if that means having many different forms of getting exp to suit each individual person style/needs thats the route hes gonna have to take. some players have a limited time to play, others players cant grind and do the same repeated process over and over, other players dont wanna be forced into one method of getting exp etc.
Hopefully yoshi will actually take this route since each person can play the game as they feel best, solo or party being able to get exp along with gil, or seals, materials for crafting, or even gear, etc. this all will just put more things in the pro column then having a system designed for one method of getting exp.
This.
While having some form of dialogue and story attached. Even a simple "The wolves are eating our livestock. Kill X number of them and bring me their tails as proof" is ages ahead of sitting somewhere and pulling rhe same mob over and over for exp.
Except that leves have no context and are more embedded in 1.0 lore than anything else. They're your daily help wanted ads, not something contributing to a zone storyline nor getting you from point A to point B.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Good thing I "blasted" this topic. All I did was ask what do you guys think and posted this little section of the interview, and you come in and be like hurp durp durp..
