nah, he wont get suspended. Probably just a simple explination from a moderator about what SE wants to get out of the forums, how they intend to keep it as clean as possible without having 50% of threads being spam or already discussed topics. And if the moderator is nice he might even take time out of his own day to post a link to a site dedicated to cheesecake.

Not triyng to say it's defective. This is a minor issue, not a scolding for a terrible job. An issue which has been resopnded to in a pretty amazing way. It looks like good things will come of this.

You don't get banned for having a thread locked. The most that will probably happen is you might get an automated messsage informing you of moderator action that was taken.

I think it came down to how it was worded. It could be reworded in a way that it probably wouldn't get banned but at that point the community already knows where you got the idea from so it would be flamed until it got so hostile that a GM would have to lock it.

Nobody is asking GMs to not do their job, nor is anyone saying they do a bad job. That's not what this thread is about, you're missing the point. It's worth noting that prior to the GM's response, some of the policy regarding this wasn't crystal clear.

I expressed some concern about a recent trend, and my concern was addessed in an excellent manner by someone who is clearly good at what they do. That really should have been the end of it. I feel like I'm being portrayed as some kind of bad guy here.
