From what I gather, Extreme Mode is just like his Easy Mode in a way. Both are quest bosses, except this one is impossible to be defeated by anyone short of Legion and instead of progressing you in the story progresses you in the relic quest.

From my perspective, even if people found out how to beat ifrit extreme, the only people actually able to would be JP players. The lag / animation lock we get in the US would simply make it impossible for us to beat it.

Nah in regular Ifrit its easy to avoid them you just gotta pay attention to battle log and be ready to run (aka not getting animation locked).
