Why wasn't it Ivalice?

I could've sworn back years ago I saw supposedly leaked screenshots of a FFXIV in development that showed a viera and a moogle in woods that looked reminiscent of Ronfaure. Oh what could have been... Placing a FF MMO in an already established world would seem like a good idea and bring more fans into it IMHO.

so uhh... you don't like that they fashioned the races after the races in XI, and are questioning whether or not Eorzea is enough it's own world... yet you want them to copy the races from other FF games (viera, etc), and worlds (Ivalice)?

I don't get it.

I don't get why it would be copying races if you put the game in a world where those races have always been. They've never been in any other game that isn't in Ivalice.

I might be wrong but wasn't that related to project rapture? and didn't that then turn into XIV? It was a long time ago so I might be getting things mixed up >.<
