Or because they've never answered a question from the NA side directly.
It's a Japanese game, we get it. But that's probably the dumbest reasoning I've seen.

I noticed that trend. Very rarely do we get a response from the Reps here that is not originally from a response on the JP side.
Forum cycle is basically:
Read JP Rep responses through Google Translate > Read Reinhart's translation > Read NA Rep's translation of something I read twice already.
I understand the communication borders between NA and JP, but I think other regions should be responded to about their particular complaints and problems beyond localization. We recently had a near 1k post thread with almost 400 likes to the thread and a Rep didn't even acknowledge it existed, or did they? Who knows.
But honestly JP side is nice and clean and all that but they do have trolls in there just like NA side so nothing special there, also they do demand/request for lots of stuff just like NA as well so that's same could be how they word it that helps get a comment on some for sure. All the other stuff is mainly talked on 2CH forums from what I noticed, but obviously those wont get any comment since it's outside of FFXIV forums but I think the devs check them out too time to time.
- For one thing JP thread is much more organized, they post the threads in appropriate forum section is one thing NA we got threads doing this as well but most are posted in the General Discussion area.
Example: 2355 threads in General Discussion on JP side compared to 11039 threads in GD on NA side.- They try to name the title of the threads so you can tell what the thread is talking about instead of "HELLO", "I HAVE AN IDEA", "DISAPPOINTED" where you gotta click and read to find out what the thread is about. Those will definitely not help getting rep posting replies on it imo.
- People try to stick to that one thread instead of making multiple threads.
Not all but people do try more to search for certain thread topic and post within the same thread to keep it clean. Only time they separate a thread is if they get into a debate and think that should be discussed in another thread then they will go ahead and do that.
Other than that is probably the language barrier like you said.
NA posts gets lots of likes, has good thread going NA rep needs to send that to translator or if they can do it translate it themselves and send info to YoshiP or whoever is in charge on JP side then it gets checked if there are any JP threads also talking about it, then JP side gets reply from the reps and NA gets translated and posted afterwards (usually same day, or day after)
And that... noticed this also doing the translations for almost a year, NA side questions only gets answered if JP side has similar question going. Once in a while Bay and them answers stuff that wasn't posted on JP side but for most it's something that was posted in JP side then translated and being posted on NA side as if it was replying to someone in here. Reason why I said above they check what questions are alike both on JP and NA side and responding.
I probably shouldn't be saying this on here but sometimes when I see NA rep posts making it sound like they got the answer! when actually JP side got it first, kind of makes me stop and think for a second about it since I already read the JP comment I know it was originally posted there and wasn't originally for the NA. Unless they are both being replied to at same time since it's related question like I said. Some rep comments already do but they should just put JP side got a comment on this related topic so here it is.. (translation)...

Very much like being an EU player in regards to things like World of Warcraft - the majority of news we get is reposts of information found on the US forums, and we barely ever get anything from the developers themselves (folk such as Ghostcrawler and what not).
I have actually been very impressed by the amount of stuff that is posted (despite the language barrier, which doesn't exist between the 'main' EU forum and the US forum for World of Warcraft) even if it takes some time basically due to the reps being based in the US.
*Edit* Looking through the 'Blue' posts on MMO-Champion, and within the first four pages, minus a couple of topics being posted in by the community team in regards to "You are oldschool if you remember..." every single post is a news repost or a blog repost on the EU side. The information posted by Ghostcrawler doesn't even make it across the divide.
Apologies for the assumption that you are from the US, but this is a common topic on the EU WoW forums - or basically any gaming forum in which you are technically the secondary market.

It is something that slightly bugs me also. While we do have similar complaints like Japan, we still have issues with the game here and there that JP may not have made a thread for, and it feels like it will guaranteed be ignored simply because the JP have not brought it up. Not only that, I see wonderful ideas made by people. Are the developers not able to see these ideas because of translation issues?[LIST=1]

But it isn't to criticize our NA reps, they do a fantastic job and I know they try to provide us any information they can. I think however like you said, we need to get the developers attention with NA/EU specific threads. Perhaps something that will make a JP put it through a translator to see what it is.
Something like RNG is a major issue here and they didn't respond to it beyond "There will be more content in 2.0 to balance things.", most NA would like a more detailed response on that and don't know if JP are attempting to get the same thing out of them.

So the cause of all our NA forum woes and problems is.... Rokien?

They did answer regarding triple triad, which i thought was unique to NA side iirc. Regarding RNG thread, they already said changes are gonna come in 2.0 at E3 interview, what more do people want, its clear they arent gonna change anything on the relic quest unless it was done in fashion that some people cant ger it in fair fashion (behest for exmplae because some people monopilize it before) ?
Its amazing how entitled this side of community are, no wonder they dont reply here.
