I thought as much. Thanks a tonIf you examine a piece of gear it'll say repair goldsmith (Level 10~) or something like that, I can't remember lol
But by that it'll say Melding- then it'll show the level required and the class to meld it.
level 0-30 gear - tier I materia can be melded
level 31-40 Tier II materia can be melded
Level 41-50 Tier III & IV materias can be melded
Edit: Please note that some gear can not be melded with materia![]()
i did some testing with this a while back never got anyone else to confirm it tho but maybe u can be the person to confirm it for me.
When i was on my 50 carp i have something like 28.5% on a meld i put on my vit's rings and it went up to 30%, took them of went back to 28.5% i think if this is working for other people melding all depends on the base stat of the crafter AKA Carp = VIT

some info at the bottom on what helps %'s with melding
Will test this today, dont think its true, but will have to check nowi did some testing with this a while back never got anyone else to confirm it tho but maybe u can be the person to confirm it for me.

I would agree but since every stat effects quality 0.1% it might be the same for melding and stacking 30 str might only give 3% on a 20% success thats not even 1% and might not see a different
I thought this might be the case, my stats aren't stacked high enough to warrant a difference in the melding rates if this theory should be true.
They definitely don't effect chance. I have melded just as many things naked, as I have with gear (including stat rings & T4 stat melded to craft gear), and there has been no visible difference regarding both percentages or general success.
