You cannot copy write names that are that simple. Other wise every child named Luke would have a TM after their name. To copy write it GL would have to prove that the names were original creations that don't exist anywhere else.

3 thingsI'd like to see original characters unlike the rest of the entire games industry. SE doing fan service like the DLC bosses in XIII-2 diminishes the brand value. Also XIV doesn't yet have a lot of good original charaters so I think it should be a priority over wallowing in memorabilia.
This is why I give so much respect to SE for their work on the FF series.
Even reoccurring themes like moogles and chocobos were painstakingly re-designed for every iteration.
I love Shiva but I always want to see a new incarnation of it over a used (albeit spectacular) X or VIII version.
Having Cloud jump in in the middle of a GC quest would be a disservice to the memory of VII and to the future of XIV. Don't turn deep characters into mascots, that's what Kingdom Hearts series is for.
1. Gilgamesh was long over due in a final fantasy considering he was in 12 and only for like 1 fight (Yeah its the same in XIII-2 but come the hell on its GILGAMESH!)
2. I agree with wanting to see a new version of shiva (X's version was amazing)
3. Cloud should stay in midgar with all of his FF7 fanboys and yes KH is for little kids who want FF heroes of yore as kiddy mascots

We could very well see them in FFXIV, the games background setting seems about right.
in almost all FF Games Biggs and Wedge followed a very similar trend they usually were always an enemy of some sort "if not then they Followed the plot relief trend ex. FF7,FF9", Were Soldiers..in pretty much all FF games they appeared in save for one."two if you count 13". and always played Comic Relief.
You have Garleans, which would fulfill the first two requirements for Enemy Soldier Biggs and Wedge, and there Comic Relief could be any number of Set backs for the Empire. They may also appear as friendly GC Related combatants for plot relief and comic relief.
I would still love to see them in here though it would be nice

A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
More importantly, how are we going to kill them off? Or will they be gag cameo characters like FF8?
If they were gag cameo characters, like that detective we keep seeing, I guess that would be cool. But I think the detective sorta already has the goofy gag spot. Hmm, I'm not quite sure how Square would go about it, but however they do it, I think it would be awesome for Biggs and Wedge to be in the game somehow![]()
