I installed every update from HP's Support and Drivers and then the same from AMD. The issue remains.I see this error on my laptop whenever I forget to enable the discrete graphics card. Maybe you need to install drivers for yours? I think you can use your specific model number (should be on a sticker somewhere on your laptop) to look up drivers on HP's website. If that fails, look up your graphics card on AMD's website.
Ok, next:
Right click on the FFXIV icon itself, select "Properties", then press "Open File Location".
Right click on the ffxivconfig file and select "Run as administrator".
Note: If it runs then do not bother setting your config options. This will run in the administrator account context, so will not save your settings to your current logged in Windows user.
I just want to see if it executes.
Ok it does. It will also run without using administrator.Ok, next:

Run the config like that without using administrator and try to save a configuration.
Exit the config utility. Run it again. Did it remember your settings?
If you get an error trying to save a configuration: Enable the Windows font option in the config and pick any font (it's only temporary). Save and exit. Open again and un-check the Windows font option. Save and exit. This is sometimes required because the config structure does not seem to initialize correctly.
Try running the game again.

It runs and saves without error.
but just a note: I am given no option from the FFXIVconfig to change font.

I remember now, it was added in a later patch. Once you can run the game it will update.
So i've been a patient paying player and would really like someone from SE to walk me through what i need to do to get back playing.
Does it still not run, even if you execute the ffxivboot file like you did the config?
