Kind of off topic but I have a question! What do you top contributing linkshells do in deciding who gets to be the top contributor? I find the achievements to be nifty but do you all continue contributing until everyone who wants the achievement get them or do you usually elect one and once everyone has gotten their seals [that's too bad] for everyone who didn't get it?
Depends on the group for most part.
The group i'm in focus on just getting a top 20. So basically gives them to the people who are on the most so we always have a top 20 online when we run.

this made me chuckle because i thought hamlet defense was stupid....until we started doing it right. It became a blast when we knew what to do and that i could go in and craft and still be a big contribution to my team.
lol did you really just list kirin..... and JoL? lmao?Really? Tiamat, Cerb, KV, JoL, Kirin, etc, these HNMs were all botted?
Bots were an issue in Dragon's Aery, at Aspid and Behemoths Dominion. Where else?
Over all it was a sliver of XI's endgame content. `If you say otherwise than you were either in an LS that sucked or weren't around for those days.`
Well, I guess Kirin was botted in a way due to a lot of the pop items needed people were competing against RMT for example against. I remember when things use to pop claimed before they added that 3 second deal.... Ahh good times, but what do I know sense apparently bots don't exist. Right Darth?

My eyes!
Kirin was dominated by botters too? lol.
Translation: You were in a bad LS that couldn't claim anything and cursed "bots" as the source of all your inefficiencies, from Kirin to King Arthro.
Bots were not the deciding factor in FFXI endgame and weren't even RELEVANT to the vast majority of most endgame mobs, regardless of the fear mongering and hysteria you and the rest of the incapables bring up everytime someone mentions the words "open world." Right? Right.
Yeah, I was in a super bad LS, you caught me, your ignorance is fun. Please keep going on, I love the laugh. You're right bots and RMT aren't real. The changes the SE did to some of the HNM/NMs was in fact a crock and wasn't to try and fix the botting/RMT issues. Like I said, bots and RMT arn't real. You are right! They have never been a problem in any MMO!My eyes!

Certain pop items for the sky 'Gods' were dominated by bots and positional hackers, as were most normal NMs and most pre-AU HNMs before they were ALL changed to pop items.
I agree crafting can be a lot of fun in there but there isnt much room for mistakes!
Just a tip for crafters looking into it.. yes, you can get tier V luminary progress on the synths in hamlets!
All of those stuffs are either from miner/ botanist or fishing at school. Which mean you always need to move around anyway. And yes to second posts, that plan is very common nowadays. 1 LS support 1 person to secure the spot. That person then share his stuff to members.
