I think the only way that would work now is to offer it as a download through the PS store. It would cost them money to make free bluray discs and ship them to players. Ideally, though, you would want it installed on a HDD so its faster, and no doubt SE will require it.

Buy your ps3 version and be happy that your supporting an awesome game. I'm assuming You could also give the account+30 days of free time that comes with the game to someone else.

Now heres my question... will we need the disk to play or not? :O

Yeah but look at what Valve did for Portal 2. If someone buys a PS3 version they can also play it on PC, Mac and vice versa with just one copy.

I don't think SE will do that. Isn't valve the same company that owns steam?

You could register FFXI for the xbox and play on PC if you had the game downloaded. Also, SE has more than you think.
