Or it's like Yuna in Duodecim and each of your skills summons a creature each time for a quick attack.

I could see the primals working this way through the free grand company system but I would be a little surprised if they did that to whatever summoner uses. Maybe it would be a mixture of both? In XI Odin and Alexander are summons that come out do a move then leave provided the summoner used their 2 hour ability.

Didnt they say that a primal when summoned by LS would fight alongside you?I could see the primals working this way through the free grand company system but I would be a little surprised if they did that to whatever summoner uses. the way i envisiond SMN is a bit more like a nuker then pet job i guess.
Yeah but that sounds too vague to me. Fighting alongside could mean both but if they treat it in the manner where you call them and they stay on the feild like Ifrit for example with all his cracks bursts and hellfire I feel bad for the person(s) on the receiving end.
Yeh this gives me hope.I'm fine with the main primals being exclusive to companies IF we get similar lesser summons.
For examples:
Golem in place of Titan
Raiden or Quezacotl instead of Ramuh
Salamander or Pheonix as opposed to Ifrit
Phantom or Hades or Cerberus sans Diabolos
Unicorn or Seraph replaces Alexander or Carbuncle or Moogle
Sylph without Garuda
Aquarius or Bismark will suffice for Leviathan
Mateus for Shiva. ( I guess--couldn't really find a good replacement.)
Gilgamesh, Zodiark, Ultima, or Eden for Odin.
Other possiblities: Carbuncle, Siren, Cactuar, FAT CHOCOBO, Tonberry, Valefor, Fenrir, Brothers, Cait Sith, BAHAMUT, Kirin, etc, etc.
im going to be nit picking, no is not going to be LS that summons the Primal, is going to be the "Free Company" that posses the Primal be able to summon it, not you're silly little LS.

Mateus is a greater summon than Shiva, not a lesser. There aren't any solid options for a lesser Ice summon though. Maybe Mist Dragon?
Zodiark, Ultima, and Eden are also all far more powerful than Odin. So they don't qualify as Lessers at all.
Gilgamesh is a powerful named character, so I think the same rules apply to him as the Primals.
Carbuncle will likely be the primary Astral Lesser - although Seraph and Unicorn would also be nice.
Ixion is far more likely than Raiden as a replacement for Ramuh... after all Raiden is a more powerful version of Odin (FFVI)
If the E3 art is indicative of summons, we may get Typhoon as our Wind Summon, and Fenrir as our Umbral, and Cait Sith as.. um... non-elemental?? Astral maybe? idk.
