Hi All,

I agree with Velhart, Premium, Firon and many others:

I don't mind a long-term goal (I LOVE having them ). I totally understand Yoshida-san's need for a Time Sink to keep us all busy until 2.0 launches (with very few patches Pre-2.0 remaining).

But the difference between Final Fantasy XI's Dynamis (Early Days) for Relic Weapons & what we have now with Hamlet Defense (and seen with Darklight Gear Drops) is that in Dynamis, EVERY time you participate, you are 1 step closer to your goal.

You know you're getting closer because you receive "points" (Ancient Currency) every time you go. So while the total # of currency required may be longer than these 9 Primal Seals + the 25k Key Item, this current system is demoralizing simply because it's a Low Random Number Generator, based on luck.

You may get lucky and get your 9 Primal Seals with minimal grinding, or you may be unlucky and not get any drops for a while (like one streak we had of 0/14 drops in Hamlet before we saw 1 Seal (all over 65,000 Points each time) (actually 0/112 Rewards since none of the 8 of us got anything but Dark Matter).

It's demoralizing, mind-numbing, and gives people *NO* incentive to want to grind through Hamlet Defense (or any of that content).

If Yoshida-san implemented a Point System, so that every time you do Hamlet Defense, EVERYONE gets Points, and those Points eventually can be turned in to get a Primal Seal, then at least everyone knows they're making positive progress towards the Long Term Goal.

And also, unlike Dynamis, Hamlet Defense is so much LESS EPIC and more linear.

The early days of Dynamis-Xarcabard (and other areas) had different grand goals like going after Dynamis Lord, or getting NM Drops before that point, or different Side Paths, to fight other NMs and get people Attestations, or just go through different side paths to farm more Ancient Currency, etc.

Not so with Hamlet Defense.

I sincerely hope Yoshida-san implements a Points System soon, to let people grind through less painfully (or ups the Drop Rate noticeably).
