The sale date is currently planned for jan. 2013. So winter for 2.0 is still on time I think. I don't mind if it's dec, jan or feb.

Plus, if they are trying to release alpha by September, I doubt beta and official launch will all happen soon after. I love XIV and I'm really looking forward to 2.0, but after reading that, I won't expect it till Spring 2013. SE will need time to squash bugs from alpha and beta. Hopefully if it DOES get a Spring 2013 release, we can expect even more content....though the downside is that 1.23 is the last major patch till 2.0 =/

Well if alpha, with beta following it, is scheduled for Fall, I can definitely see 2.0 being finalized by January/February. I don't see them working much on new content during the debugging phase, so a longer beta shouldn't affect the amount of content if it comes out in spring unless there's a massive catastrophe during the testing.

I think its incorrect, if you heard "Eorzea" said by someone, you could easily mispell it for "Aorzia", also the guy clearly does not understand the game, stating Factions instead of Companies and other minor errors such as not knowing the racial features.

We know Imperial are trying to take over places in Eorzea, that is why they have been attacking us and we've had all these imperial activity. It would make sense.

We have been crying out for Ishgard, if they were to make a new city, and still block of Ishgard, think peeps would be upset, i hope SE is smart enough to let us in there first before thinking of doing new cities.

And I dont think there is an "Aorzia" on the current map, i know some place names changes as there is "Odin's Forest" but i dont think "Uldah" and "Limsa Loninsa" will get name changes and such.

We will have to wait and see though, we get more interviews in the day, but something like this i think we will just notice over time if its ever referred to or not.

If this guy really saw gameplay (and there isnt any reason to think he didn't) I wonder what and where the castle he was talking about will be! It also bodes well for more new info today or tomorrow from people on the floor.

All patches are always delayed, why would 2.0 be any different? From what i understood at first, the beta was supposed to take place in September but now it is only the Alpha in September.

Either way i don't care if it is delayed. I rather them do the game properly, bug free and with good content then have a rushed mess like what XIV was like when it first came out.

2.0 is their primary development focus. Patches got delayed due to the natural disaster in Japan which pushed everything forward.

Patches got delayed because of the earthquake when it happened not 1 year later. They give timeframes a few weeks before patch and always go over that timeframes. It has nothing to do with the earthquake.

I get that 2.0 is the primary focus but since you haven't heard, 2 different teams are working on XIV. one for the current content and updates and one for 2.0. The 2 team are not influanced by each other's work. Only after patch 1.23 will the 2 teams merge into one.

The cancellation of trailer at E3 is probably due to the fact that they realized that 2.0 will take a bit longer then first anticipated and showing the trailer too early would be a mistake. Yoshi-P used to talk about the beta around the end of the year, now he is talking alpha.

If you go back to the article they have fixed the spelling from aorzia to eorzea but not the city part of it. Author just doesn't really know what's going on with the setting, does not mean all the info is wrong though.
