Why would you post an idea that you already know everyone else won't like? If you want to try and get something looked at, should at least put more thought into then "Flame on flamers" and "I know 90% of the player base would hate this"When the auction house arrives with 2.0 have items posted with Materia in them stripped of their materia and returned to the sellers inventory.
I know 90% of the player base would hate this, but player bazaar would be useful and having crafting friends / crafting leveled would be important.
Don't cry so much, there are plenty of sites like ffxivpro where you can post your leet triple melds for sale and you would have that awesome crafting rep you deserve, not that retainer named crystalllalaasas.
Flame on ye flamers!
well i have to give you a medal. this is the most horrible good idea i have seen on the forums in a while.

What a juvenile thread title.
Generally speaking there is a societal restriction on ideas which are described as 'good'; that is, they have to actually be, in fact, good ideas.
Good day, sir.
7UP!
So uh... Where's Waldo?
the title of this thread threw me off, if you know very few will like it its obviously a bad idea. When the auction house arrives with 2.0 have items posted with Materia in them stripped of their materia and returned to the sellers inventory.

Your thread is bad and you should feel bad!
Yeah, man but very few people like taxes but supporting a necessary infrastructure isn't a bad idea.
In reality the idea isn't entirely bad.
1. Exploit. If you desire to meld new gear (as people will when new content comes out) you may want to have the materia back from an obsolete piece. This mechanic allows for that.
2. Will it show? Will markets becoming flooded from time-to-time, the cheapest gear is shown first. This means that some of the triple-melded gear may not even show up since it will run substantially more.
3. Does it matter? Not really. People can /sh to sell uber gear. Besides, it doesn't show who is selling the 733t gear anyway.
Does this hurt the game? Nope. Does it potentially provide a hugely beneficial exploit with minimal negative impact? Yup. Look beyond the knee-jerk reaction - which is the problem with these forums - nobody really does.
This is exactly what is bad about the idea. Everyone thinks taxes are allocated to specific funds rather than just tossed into a general slush fund the government can spend any which way they want like most taxes are. It seems like a good idea until you realize how it's being exploited/abused/mishandled by poor management and little to no oversight.
This OP's idea doesn't even really provide the SENSE of being a good idea from the start, how do you think it's going to end?
Also your comparison isn't really apt, taxes would be like what SE did to the market wards for selling items outside the designated ward. This OP's idea is more like the government coming to the local used car dealership and smashing all the cars up so people are motivated to buy from private sellers or buy new cars altogether.
