it's a good idea because she's probably one of the person who Miss melded an item? and spent 1 mil on 1materia?
Knowing se- This wish will be Granted!!
If SE were going to have items stripped of materia when put up for sale, i doubt they would make it so players would get back the materia that was put on it. That kind of defeats the purpose of the spirit bond/materia system. It was introduced to give equipment a "shelf life". If you could strip an item of it's materia and sell it separately, then there would be too many materia floating around on the market. No one would recycle new gear into materia, and the whole system would collapse into brokenness.
"A (good) idea very few will like."
This alone should provide you with an answer about how poor the idea is if you don't even have faith in it yourself. "I am going to post an idea I know a lot of people are going to hate which makes it a good idea."
No sir, it's a bad idea. When the auction house arrives with 2.0 have items posted with Materia in them stripped of their materia and returned to the sellers inventory.
I know 90% of the player base would hate this, but player bazaar would be useful and having crafting friends / crafting leveled would be important.
Don't cry so much, there are plenty of sites like ffxivpro where you can post your leet triple melds for sale and you would have that awesome crafting rep you deserve, not that retainer named crystalllalaasas.
Flame on ye flamers!
This was started in general as a gag, it was moved so I guess the silliness is over. Was a fun read though, thanks!
The negative impact would be that people quit the game cause of your stupid idea.
What the OP suggested might be a lot easier for the developers to implement. If you combine the possiblity for Materia and quality percentage for every item listed on the auction house it creates a huge number of possible items that can be listed. You then have to search and browse each item individually instead of in categories as they were in FFXI. For each item you then have to track the purchase price along with the orignal stats of the item they bought.
The fact they implemented the storage locker inside the Inn to only accept items with 100% quality makes me think they don't have a good system in place of storing and keeping track of items on the server.
