You guys have to remember XIV needs a faster lvl speed than other games because of how the system works but lvl 1-39 and 40-50 need to be flipped. I do agree 40-50 is too fast.

I agree to a degree here. 1-10 is a nice pace, 20-30 it seems to slow down alot. That said 40-50 tends to go fast due to war+blm aoe spam.

Make it happen.
just look at it this way faster leveling the faster you finsh everything and the population will shrink faster then it will be harder to do things.
Mini Multiplayer Online RPG, nowMMORPGs standards has changed , That's why.
I agree the pace is too fast. It seems the solo speed with bonus is the speed that party levelling should be set at. That way you would earn around 100k for an evenings party (say 1h30min). At the moment, in a party, when you ding a level, by the time the current chain ends you could already be hovering 5-10k into level lol, and you havent even gotten around to equiping your gear or setting your point allotment lol.
Another related issue is that you dont need to buy appropriate level gear. In 11, for example, you would get your ass handed to you unless you geared up for the right level range. That is another factor that adds to the time consuming element of levelling that just isnt present here.
If you had to break from levelling to gear up and do other things/quests, you would appreciate the levelling experience a lot more. In turn you would appreciate and hold dear particular zones for various level ranges, thereby creating a more immersive experience with a long term impact on the player as a person.

I'm kinda in the Middle about EXP being too fast or too slow, I'm not an Elitists like some people are that just play and play till they are blue in the face, no matter what those people will hit max fast regardless on how fast or slow exp is. For an MMO that needs Longevity yes it is kinda fast.. however if you put it to slow like FFXI, people will get burnt out overtime, because they can't get to Max level on 1 job.
And SE Tried to balancing that out with FFXIV's Fatigue System:

And that was a Horrifying experience, but at least they tried to balance it out in a different, and in that I applaud their Creativity.
Balancing Exp can be a rather hard thing to do when a MMO company is always Search for Longevity. but I do agree it is a "tad" fast though.
Because when you level so fast that the gear you need is only important when you hit 40+ all the gear below that is useless. Therefore it hurts the economy and new crafter's. Everything in a mmo is tedious, so their shouldn't be anything different about leveling. Above with class stacking and etc. This would be happening if everyone didn't have 50 in everything. It bring more variety in the game. If players get to choose they are going to pick the easiest and fastest way which is fine but, don't just give them the levels in a hand basket so they have everything in 50. This game is 2 years old if that and half of the players have all dow/dom capped @ 50 their is something wrong with that.
I guess overall this is a Japanese game and that is why i play it they have the most hardcore games out of the gaming industry. I hope this game doesn't become Westernized with wanting intimidate gratification. I want the challenge i don't get anywhere else.

Having just gone from lvl.1 - 50 in this past month, I feel that it's fine. People are going to find the easiest way to do everything regardless of where they set the curve, so there's no need to ruin things for those of us who'd rather get through it at a natural pace.
